O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

New and improved

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Todd keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

But who is this mysterious Todd? I'm not sure, but something has to be done about that pesky God.

You want an atheistic version? Okey-doke.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God? No, keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

(The mass derisive laughter would make godbotherers everywhere quake in their boots. :D)

What if not all Canadians are patriotic? You'll have to remove the word 'patriot.'

What if a Canadian citizen was not born in Canada? You'll have to remove the word 'native.'

What if someone doesn't want Canada to be free. What if they want a world wide government containing Canada. The word 'free' has to go.

There is more, too.

I think there are more people interested in secularizing the national anthem of Canada than your issues.

So the number of offended people matters and not that people are offended?

But you assume that other people will be offended. We have no proof that unpatriotic Canadians are offended, while we have proof (this very thread) that at least someone is offended by the word God.
So let's start with God, and if other Canadians tell us they're offended by something else, then we'll work from there.

I was joking. :p

Edit: Oh, but I got another point. Maybe the offended are just being thin-skinned. If the unpatriotic do not care or mind, why should the anti-deity people?

I find that my using a combination of the French and English lyrics, you can skip over all referenced to dieties.

Just jump over to "Et ta valeur, de foi trempée," at the appropriate time. Problem solved.

Errrr... actually it doesn't. Foi means faith.
"And your worthiness, forged in faith"

sounds pretty deistic to me!

I think it's pretty obvious it should be:

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Alfie keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Ok, how about this?

O Canada!
Our home and freezing land!
True neutral love in all thy kids command.

With glowing organs we see thee rise,
The True North cold and drunk!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Todd keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

What about the paraplegics that can't stand? I think that's kind of offensive to them. Shouldn't you sit on guard instead?

Pah!

I have a sneaking suspicion that certain religious types just want to retain the
term 'god' in various national anthems to convince themselves that christianity
is still worshiped across the board...Nothing could be further from the reality.

The material and supernatural worlds should be kept separate.

Religionists who demand worldly power are on the wrong track.

...

I find the use of the term 'organs' to be a naughty double-entendre!

I vouch to have that word replaced!

:)
