Self-pillaging money-doin'

As per the game manual, you can pillage your own improvements and roads and have a chance of getting gold.

So I guess I'll be making an extra worker to build a useless improvement in an uneeded city tile and be pillaging it, repairing it, pillaging it, repair, and so on for extra gold

Heck, If I found that pillaged road have no maintenance cost, I'll be constructing a 1 tile road segment instead of an improvement and make sure I destroy it at the same turn it's repaired so I never pay maintenance and get gold from it.

This is cheezy, but may actually work.

Hopefully if you can pillage your own improvements, this grants no gold.
It didn't in Civ4.

Manual don't say anything about this. It just says that you can gain gold by pillaging a road or improvement.

It will make sense not to give gold for destroying your own improvements.

Yeah. I guess it only depends on how much you get from pillaging. I guess workers can't possibly be costing more than 1 gold per turn as maintenance (if any maintenance cost). I'm pretty sure you ain't getting more than 3 gold for pillaging a road, so may not worth it. Pillaging an improvement probably get more income, though.

And, nah, don't wish me luck with it, I'll probably not do it. I'm just trying to kill time until tomorow lol
