I'm sure the DOJ will prove gifts and donations. That's no crime.
I'm sure the DOJ will prove the Senator performed favors. That's no crime.

The crux of the case will be if the DOJ can prove quid-pro-quo, i.e. that one was in exchange for the other. This is the hard, nay nearly impossible, part of a bribery case.

The DOJ plans to introduce 20,000 pages of evidence. I'm sure this will prove to be a mistake. I've too often seen this done. What happens is that the jury gets snowed under and ignores the documents.

Q; If there's a conviction, does Gov. Christie (R-NJ) appoint a successor, or is there a special election?
