So, I started up the Sengoku Conquest again. However, this time, I've been using my Shogun unit offensively (5.5.2 stats are pretty damn good against puny Ashigaru). I got him up to Grandmaster level, too.

What I'm asking is can the Shogun unit generate a leader? He is Grandmaster, and I don't really see why not, but I've never heard of it happening.

Thanks,

I don't think so. I do the same thing with my Shogun and he's never generated a leader.

Well so far he's won over 20 Grandmaster victories, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they simply can't generate any leaders. Naturally, if nobody has ever seen a leader generated by a Shogun unit, then I'll have to assume they can't.

Well, I've been trying and trying, and I guess the Shogun just can't. I've already got three leaders (two by Bushi, one by Samurai Archer), but no matter how many times my Grandmaster Shogun wins, no leaders are spawned.

Sorry for bump, but I was browsing the older topics recently and today I got a leader from daimyo so this topic popped up in my memory.

hey , another Oda player . ı somehow remember a game which ı made an army with the Shogun attacking Nagazaki , was a relief when the counter attack began .

I'm a bit late noticing this, but it's just a statistical thing, your Daimyo will generate leaders. Every time an elite unit that hasn't already generated an army kills a non-barbarian enemy unit they have a small chance of generating a Leader. If they do generate a leader, the unit is flagged for the rest of the game as havign already generated a leader and can't do so again; this is signalled by an asterisk like that on Scandal's screenshot two posts above mine.
However, every time a unit is upgraded the flag is removed, so you can have one leader from your daimyo for every version you have. A dozen or so leaders from just one unit!

btw the Miyoshi are dirty scum who oppose my Lord Nobunaga's commands to surrender. They must be destroyed.
