A question about succession law that I couldn't answer from the Internet, manual, or game. I am the doomed Queen Zarpanitu, the last of my side of the family, with two potential successors, Princess Hama and Duke Shalmaneser. This game has agnatic-cognatic succession, though I understand that proximity takes preference.
I'm trying to understand why the "Seniority" and "Dynastic" (oldest direct line from founder) laws favor the 7-year-old Duke Shalmaneser, while Ultimogeniture does not. Hama is older by half a century, shouldn't she be the Seniority winner? Or does the agnatic-cognatic interfere with that? Similarly for "Dynastic", I'm not entirely sure how "direct line from founder" is calculated.
I figured I'd have to spend 10 legitimacy to make Shalmaneser my heir, with the goal of my 100 personal legitimacy not being watered down as quickly since he will likely live far longer than Hama, so it's convenient that I don't have to.
