I can't connect to the server. It gives "The connection attempt to the host has timed out" error.

Crashed, powered off again. It's restarted now.

I think I'll be getting a new computer soon whether I'm ready to or not. The HDD seems to be working especially hard lately and the CPU is pretty old. I just hope Civ will run on whatever version of Windows is on the new one.

I will be gone from Sunday morning until next Saturday evening. I had planned to leave it running in hopes that there would be no events and therefore no interruption in play. However it's looking like that may no longer be safe, and there's no way I can get a new computer operational before we leave for our trip.

The options for the coming week are to shut it down for the week, or find an alternate host. I'll also email myself a save periodically just in case the computer dies completely.

If you're talking about windows 7 I've been running civ4 on it since early may with no problems. I haven't tried hosting, but don't think it'd have any issues.
