I think that's worse than gifting the towns was. We have to suffer through 20 turns of this or ruin our rep.

I think Bede's deal just increased the length of time we fight the Arabs. Then we go back to the hittites. The Best laid plans....

I can play on Monday evening, but I think M60 still has 5 turns left.
 
Turn 6 (170AD) Do some MM to adjust for Bede's handywork.

IBT- Celts want 25 gold- ok. Greeks building Magellans.

Turn 7 (190AD) - Back away from Mansura because of an Arab LB that has cost us two units.

IBT- Sumer starts Magellans.

Turn 8 & 9 (210 & 230AD) Nothing much except advancing back to Mansura and starting infrastructure builds.

IBT- Another Arab LB near Mansura

Turn 10 (250AD) Mansura defended by 2 reg spears. Clean them both out and Mansura is ours. Kill LB also. And done.

Post turn- Not sure if we want to work our way from Muscat towards Anjar or just hold what we have and prepare to deal with the Hittites. We should get a defensive line put in around Muscat if we are holding fast. There is a settler outside of Mansura if anyone feels the need to raze and replace. Greece and Sumeria are the real leaders at the moment, no one else looks particularly overpowering. We can take Hittites down pretty easily as I don’t think they’ll have chivalry or gunpowder before the Gift of Bede expires. Don’t see a benefit to wrecking our rep as we need to be trading.

Feudalism due in 2 as I have science cranked up. We may want to get an embassy with the Vikes to see if they have iron for zerks. Odense and Stavanger could be nice to take/eliminate before they get too big.

Turn 1: Greeks build Bachs. Change some builds, do some MM.
Turn 2: Seen nothing from the Arabs. Getting ready for the change of wars.
Turn 3: I have a plan. Cancel the alliance vs the Arabs. Peace with the arabs, get engineering, TM and 1 gold. Declare on Celts. Trade engineering to the Hittites for lit and 14 gold. Kill a spear and a gallic, lost a horse.
Turn 4: Tech is set to invention. Raze Ratae Cortinum. We get ponies back.
Turn 5: We lose a sword.
Turn 6:
Turn 7: Sell Gil wines for 150 gold and a TM.
Turn 8: Build Mendes. Ah piss, Bede didn't have to hose us, the RNG did. Muscat flips taking 10 pults, and 5 troops with it.
Turn 9: Moving around to go hit the Celts.
Turn 10: Kill celt archer. Invention in 1, should be able to deal with hittites.
Positioning to hit hittites soon.
Greece and Sumeria are the 2 big dogs in culture, Tech and Gold.
Sorry for the shortness of the writeup but not much happened, I have RL stuff that compresses my writing skills and ability.
We are in decent shape now I believe as I snuck in a Library or 2.

The flip risk was under 0.1% That led to the RNG screw. I was 1 turn short of rushing a temple there so we could get our third lux of dyes.
In 5 turns I would turn on the hittites.
We can burn the 1 remaining close celt town, then turn on the hittites, but do not kill them off. We need a trading partner/whipping boy for 1 more round, and they are perfect for it. I would use the lower half of the tech tree, beelining for cavs.
 
Once the 20 are up with the Arabs, we really need to get Muscat back if nothing else. Raze and replace next time. While it's not a perfect choke, it's narrow enough to pack a lot of defenders into fortified positions. I don't relish the thought of Greece pouring through there with a lot of cav.

If we do that, we can clear the Hittites from our lands. Also note there are still a few swords and cats that can be upgraded for the coming war.

since were not at close proximity to the celts right now, what do i do (needing a war now) declare on whom?
nothing really changed, so no pic.
i can continue tomorrow or pindicator can continue.
 
We also have to figure out what to do about those two towns we picked up from the Hittites in the last conflict. They can't be defended come war time. Since they are our citizens with no immediate flip risk, I'm not sure I'd vote to abandon even if the Hittites were to re-take them briefly. Any opinions on that?
