I thought that originally settlements obtained during a peace deal didn’t count towards the military legacy path, but I see they do.
Am I mistaken and it’s always been this way, or was it changed in a patch?
It’s possible I’m getting confused between this and codices not counting when obtained from capturing a settlement.

I hear you buddy. I get the feeling us Civ Fanatics skew middle aged and up. It's one of the reasons it's such a good forum and the same reason I like Lemmy over Reddit.
Yes, i'll be 63 later this month. i've not heard of Lemmy but i'm fairly active on Reddit and i'm an admin on a FB group for 6, and 7.

In fact, captured settlements count double toward the military legacy paths in the first two ages.

What's Lemmy?

Lemmy is a reddit alternative that's totally decentralized and uses free, open source software called activitypub. The servers are called instances and are connected through something called the Fediverse. Some instances connect to everyone, some are defederated from others. You pick an instance and a username and you're good to go. Currently has 53k active users. It skews more mature and serious than Reddit although it's not like humor is in short supply. Much of it also skews Leftist politically.

My name is the same on there and there is lax moderation except against hate speech and doxxing. I'd appreciate it if things said on there don't make their way here.

CivFanatics is much more strict and much less extreme than Lemmy.

If you're tired of Reddit censorship, heavy handed moderation, and enshittification for the almighty stock price, give it a try. There are a number of third party apps that access it.

Sorry for derail. Mods please remove if this is taken as advertisement or something. Lemmy is totally non profit.
