Settler Level Insanity

Insanity is the word for this game, very interesting though. Good stuff, watching with interest.
 
I've not watched a Settler score attack before. The HG/FT15 screen put me into another laughing fit!

By the way, in the light of day, I've become aware that the rhythm my inner voice adopted for the SETTLER, SETTLER, SETTLER mantra was basically taken from Gil Scott-Heron's Whitey On The Moon.
 
Also, the "picket fence" of border settlers was settled to trip the domination limit.

Last chance to guess the final score and number of workers (more than 400 but less than 600.) The game has just been published so try not to peak.

Why not settle the entire map and conquer all AI cities at the last turn? That'd give even more pop. Come to think of it has anyone try spreading food corps to the AI and gifting them resources to grow their cities huge as well, then conquering for maximum pop?

I was thinking, why not turn the map purple, myself.

Every corn you gift the AI to grow their four cities is -0.75 for each of your 100 cities, so that's not an option for this. Unless you get CM in every city, then gift them Sushi & Seafood... sounds like more trouble than it's worth, though.
 
I think you should not stop settling to avoid dom limit, just keep gifting cities to AI, they will be yours later :lol:
The real question is after your cities have maxed out, is it better to win that turn or max out the AI cities and then win. For this ideally you would give all your city to one AI so he has 34% of land mass, this way you can boost your pop by another 34%, but with a later finish date. There should be an optimum score somewhere.
 
God... 357 cities.... How long each turn takes?


Edit: and where did you get PC to run this?
 
Is it worth it to settle a bunch of pop 1 cities on the last turn before victory?
And how about a small force to take out some AI cities?

Edit: For a 1-turn settler build the city, on the final turn, gains 3 pop with the HG instead of 1 pop. 2 of the pop has been transferred forward in time and place...

Wait, HG gives more than 1 pop?

Also, Sushi AND Cereal at the same time? That's crazy talk!

Make settler (unable to grow)
Victory-1T: City A produces settler in 1 turn
Settler makes new city +1 pop

Victory: City A grows from HG +1 pop
New city grows from HG +1 pop
---
+3 pop

Don't make settler
Victory-1T: City A produces wealth

Victory: City A grows from HG +1 pop
---
+1 pop

If the city could grow, you get +2 pop, so getting a settler is better for score regardless.
