Hi all..i have a problem. WHen I load the Sevomod I get these errors:

http://i2.tinypic.com/1zxwrvb.jpg

http://i2.tinypic.com/1zxws9i.jpg

I've installed Sevomod 3 + patch C, ImprovedMarathon speed for Sevomod and Sevo3_Megapolises v1.1

Please help me :( Sorry if the answer has already been given..this topic is very big so I didnt read every post :mischief:

Ive tried the search, but didnt find an answer. Hopefully anyone can help me

Can anyone put the 200 MB file on a resumeable download? I have dial up with DAP and neither of the front page links support resumeable downloading so no way I can download this. I have been able to before thanks to helpful folks serving it up from private pages. I like the other previous versions but still suck back on 2.9E. Wish I had High Speed Interent but too far out in the sticks.

where do you have sevo mod loaded ?
the second message could only be because you have the mod Total realism loaded in your custom assets folder and the two mod are conflicting
total realism loads itself into the folder
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Mods
and comes with its on start icon
sevo mod can be put into this file
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\MODS
and started from the games menu under advanced load a mod
Both of these mods are excellent but cant both be in your custom assets folder
btw if you redo your custom assets folder you will also probably have to reload blue marble

the http://mrgenie.dyndns.org:82/SEVO_ALTERNATIVE/
is 99% of the time up and should support it..only 65kbyte max upstream though..so only use it when others don"t work for you.

alternatively i can make you an account to logon to my FTP server..I prefer this to be not used however because by putting files on a FTP i experienced you help 1 person and 100people start to question how it works :)

oh btw, this smartmap mod I've tested only with sevomod 3...without patch A and C...should work well though..and this is the best Add on to sevomod next to the ultimatemod, but, it literally gives you all power of mapmaking in your hands...earthmaps work fine in all sizes!! :) and fully customizable...actually sevo, you should include this one standard in your package! :) and, in case needed, make it compatible..but i guess the creator of this mod already has done his/her job very well :)

Lobster could be a good ocean resource, if balanced the right way. It should give a heavier gold bonus and a minimal or even zero food bonus. I think a gold heavy benefit would reflect that lobsters cost a lot of money, keep some remote fishing towns alive finacially (esp. in the northeastern part of the US) but don't actually provide a lot of food.

This is an excellent mod, and since discovering it I hardly ever play Vanilla (especially as Amra is kind enough to make the Byzantine mod). I'm trying to install Sevomod on another computer and am having some trouble. The computer is a 1.75ghz AMD with 1.5 gig of ram and a Radeon 8500 video card. All drivers are up to date and current.

Sevomod installs fine, the patch adds fine, and everything seems to work. The game starts up, all the XMLs load correctly. However, as soon as you get through the game selection screens to actual gameplay, the screen turns to black and the monitor loses the signal. I can alt-tab out of that and can see Civ running in the background. There is no general computer crash, everything is running fine, but everytime I try to go back to Civ the screen blacksout again. Please note that I can play Vanilla Civ4 on this computer with no problems. It's Sevomod that it doesn't like. However, once I add Sevomod, I can no longer play Vanilla without the blackouts.

I have tried installing and reinstalling Civ and Sevo several times. I have done a complete Civ install, flushing the saved data from program files and My documents, all to no avail. I have already successfully installed Sevo on other computers, so I at least know how to do it.

Can anyone help me identify/fix this problem?

I just realised a strange thing with the tech-tree you somehow can get Rocketry very early from artillery. This made sam infantry appear before any flying things which is pretty strange.

I myself changed it so it required Computers and Industialisation and Flight. This would put it in better time frame compared to other techs.

Thanks for a great mod.

I also have a question, I play on huge map and it gets very slow in the end game. Any advice to allivate this?. I have a pretty good computer Dual Opteron at 2.6 Ghz and 2 Gig of Memory and two raptors and vanilla plays much better. Also load times are much longer!

I still wont switch back but because of this.. Sevomod rocks!

Just wait a really long time, like 10 minutes and it will come back. :/ That's what I have to do. So don't alt tab unless you really need to.

I have to wait before starting the game, while the mod is loading..i see nothing..just my standard windows desktop screen. for 5minutes or so :) maybe everyone's computer(the slower ones) has some point where they just need some time to initialize everything..so, sit back, make a cup of coffee, and enjoy the game when it is done loading..remember, all good in life takes time, all bad happens in seconds :) so wait those minutes! :)

mrgenie, hi again.
i had a quastion for you... in my mod that you play - how is tha a.i? is it showing any weeknes? or "being too easy?"

the same qaustion for the barberians?

no, not specifically in your addon mod.and neither specifically in sevos mod only..The biggest problem that the A.I. has when it comes to fighting a war, is that it doesn't send 1 unit first to explore the strenght of the defenders in the 3 or 4 most closest cities. it just attakcs, and always walks dead on the defenced, after that, the A.I. needs time to rebuild those units lost. in that time, I just send massive forces(i always collect 50% of my army at 1point(not on 1 tile of course, im not stupid! heheheh ) and then I go to his nearest major city(the smaller i don't attack) and just bomb it's defences down and take the city. this is no tactic, it's a matter of quantity, the A.I. doesn't know how to handle quantities and neither does it checks before an attack how many units it might need to be successfull in conquering a city. this is a general problem of civ4!! not specific for any mods. I'm not sure of course if the computer can handle all the mods properties..maybe there are some things..but really, my major issue is that the computer wedges war like a moron! as soon as I have 5defending forces in all my cities and a small mobile army of 10-15units..the battle is won..no computer is smart enough to build up 40units at once and attack with all 40at once to be able to conquer my cities..every single attack the computer comes with 20max..maybe sometimes more, but that is only 1% of the time the case. and this was also i n standard civ4 without any mods.

I (personally) do not like that Blue star flag for America, here is an alternative: its for soldiers serving in the military. See attached:

The Blue star flag is known as the Bonnie Blue Confederacy Flag: http://www.anyflag.com/history/bonnie.htm

Hey all. Btw, gread mod. Haven't really played with any other mods or vanilla since I got my greedy hands on it. I have had some problems with the game though.

- I explored an ancient temple, and when it reached completion it became city ruins. All pain no gain. Has this happened to anyone else?

- Also I find that capturing a size 1 city automatically razes that city. Isn't this wrong? I'm certain this didn't happen before, in earlier versions of this mod or in the vanilla version. Not really 100% sure though.

- And finally, will this mod be compatible with jdog's revolution and barbarianciv mod? It sounds like fun, but I'm not sure I will ever leave Sevomod behind. Just wondering...

I'll be grateful for any help.

I have a problem with this mod - upon starting a new game, much of everything seems blank! There are no icons to select, all I see is my scout and my settler and the rest of the world. I'm also unable to rectify anything in the options menu and I'm unable to check the Civilopedia, see my technology tree (or anything else relating to the advisory menus!) Help!

I'm an absolute newbie by the way, both on this very forum and with playing Civilization on the whole.

I just finished a game with this mod and my only complaint is that planting forests is avaliable too early. I had several cities wich production came exclusively from forests massive choping/replanting. The AI dosent use this feature, so the game gets very easy. In my new game i wont be using this feature. Cant you make forests slower to grow, or avaliable later (when our cottages will surely be maxed..).

And some of the new traits are really boring.. Scientific? Seafaring? bleh..

But this is a great mod! Congratulations.

Hello

First of all, I would like to say that I really enjoy playing this mod.
I have just bought a new labtop and I am running Civ 4 (latest version) with Sevo Mod (latest version) and I am having some graphics problems.
My laptop is equiped with Intels Dual-Core processor 1,8 GHz, 1GB of RAM, and a Geforce Go 7600 graphics card (with newest nvidia drivers).
I have attachd two screenshots of the problem.

I have no idea if this problem should be posted i another thread, but I have not been able to find any posts with the same problem.

I hope someone can help.

Thanks!

Welcome to CFC:goodjob:

we all know what the " minimum - recomended " specs on the box are, but you are trying to play large or huge earth map with 18 civs
in reality you need at LEAST double the processor speed double the RAM that you have also if you go to the technical support sub forum
you will find that many of the graphics card for notebooks dont have the proper tnl support to run CIV4
I would check the graphic card first (also you dont say what it's ram is)need at least 128 probably 256 for huge earth 18 civs
mod is great but you will need to play smaller world till you can upgrade
I have an athlon 2800+ (2400 Ghz) 1gig of ram with 2.5 gig of swap file and a Nvidia fx 5700 128 and cant run huge map 18 civs
so your not alone
