SevoMod 3

Another Kudos for ya Sevo. I think people take modders for granted but I don't. I only have 1 request before you stop: Please make Sevomod comaptable with Warlords. If it comes down to Sevomod or Warlords I just won't buy Warlords. A pity but thats how goodthis mod is.

Wowsers! Feel the love! Thanks for all the support gang! Really. This has been so much fun every step of the way because I've gotten to see how much fun other people have had with the mod. For the first time all those long years of playing with C++ and 3DS have had some application I could share and it's been great.

Okay, I give. :mischief: I'll make the mod warlords compatible before I hand off to the community. Besides, I'm having so much fun with the SDK now...man, I'm going to be single again soon...

Anyway: update on the SDK changes:

-Added Roger Bacon's Flying Mod: Helicopter units can now move across coastal sqaures & attack ships.

-Added (my all new) nuke anywhere mod. You can nuke anywhere: enemy territory, neutral ground, other civs (not at war with you), and your own territory. Anyone with land or units who is NOT on your team will declare war with you if you try even if the nuke is intercepted, so think about it...

But like I said in the SDK thread, sometimes you just want to nuke one of your own cities.

simple solution, use 2 different logon accounts in either win2000 or winXP :)
Eh, it's not so simple in my case. I heavily customized my windows using windowblinds, desktopx and bunch of other things. It would be a pain to do the same for a second account and no way am I working with vanilla windows anymore! :)

hi sevo!!!

ill join all the others with their copmliments to you,

you made civ 4 obtain more "taste" to it.

i cant wait for the update to warlords, thank you so much for doing this final tribute for the community.

your the man sevo.

hope it wont be too hard to update my mods to yours.... :)

Hurray:D who says peer pressure doesn't work?

I must say I think it is sad Sevo's going to leave us, but I'm glad he will help with the warlords expansion. I don't think it would be a bad idea to donate some money as a token of appreciation for all his hard work. Civilization would never be the same without his dedication. I am new to this forum as a member, but not as a reader of this forum nor to Civilization as a concept. I have played with Sevomod almost from the beginning, and I cannot think of the game in another, lesser way. Sevo, you're a god from the machine (quote, our beloved tech-tree).

I have some good ideas for further development of the game (fancy ideas and tweaks) that I think would spice up the game a little -not that you haven't already. But I'm unsure if you consider yourself done until Warlords or if you'd want to hear them anyway just in case.

Anyway, thanx for the response; it was helpful. And I look forward to keep playing with your mod until I for some medical reasons (god forbid) will be unable to do so, and will forcibly be separated from my computer.

High regards, Black Rose

WOOOHOOO SEVO!! :) that's what i mean..always willing to help! you're an example of the gaming industry! :) I still think you should open some way to donate! :) if Firaxis earns Millions with their software...the least you should get is a nice vacation spend by your fans! :)

Great Work Sevo!!!! Outstanding!!!! Gald to see you get your life back!!!

Could you/or someone tell me what those little blue buttons are for at the bottom of the map are for (with the squares and triangles)?

Thanks again for everything!

These are enhanced plot list controls. I think it's explained in the readme, but here's a link to the original modcomp's thread.

By the way Sevo - the alt, ctrl, shift options for unit selection still don't work properly - for me anyway. I'm on patch C, sooooo........ dunno....(!?)

I didn't have any oil; so went for Nuclear. When I wanted to build a Nuclear Sub it said I needed oil.:(

I'm not sure if this has been asked and answered, if it has I apologise.

Upon Start-up, I get an error message saying:

"Failed to load python module CvEventInterface."

After that the game starts up as usual, but I can't access the Civiclopedia, and when I start any game, there's no UI, there's my troops, and the map, nothing else, I also cannot access the Options Menu.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think this is a little extreme. I think that using a nuke should cause a moderate negative hit to your relations with everyone. Maybe -3 (You used nuclear weapons, and we're scared pantless that you'll do it to us.)

Yeah...still working on those. They seem to be crossed-up and confused somehow, but I'll figure it out.

Tough call on this one. Lemmie look at the code and see what else might be readily workable. My main objective was to allow nuking anywhere and the war declaration was more an after-effect. I think that whoever owns the land you nuke should declare war. But if another civ has some units in there they might be P.O.'d but not leap right into combat.

hello!

its a minor issue i know, comming from a small country that is mine: Portugal.

I'm a new user to the mod (btw great mod ;)) and i enjoyed to play with my country (altough sucky seafaring trait :D).

Anyway, the song that it plays for Portugal, is tango, from Argentina (not even from Spain if u thought that).

If you want to put something rooted in Portugal, try search for a style called 'Fado'. Personally i dont like that much but its our in our culture for 200 years. It sounds like the guitar in the Islam stuff in the game.

Kinda curious:

Why haven't Firaxis allowed building channels/canals? (example: the very much important Suez-channel).
Also, I miss the tobacco resource, although the other ones already existing are pretty much enough already.

Just a thought; why have ships able to bombard if you do not have access to sulphur? (example: Ship of the Line with Textiles)

And I miss the opportunity to add or remove civilizations/leaders in the Worldbuilder. Doing this would be nice since it would allow me to create scenarios.

Finally, I was wondering how I can switch leader traits? There are some very uninteresting traits out there, and I feel it would be appropriate that a player should choose traits regardless of civ. I mean, any civ has had a multitude of rulers right?

Just wondering if these things are possible to fix? Anyway, looking forward to Warlords, heard they're gonna increase the max civ cap to 24 or something...

After that I think I may be moving on to other non-Civ-4 projects!

Sevo,
Whatever your decision about SevoMod 3 and Warlords, I must say that this has been ONE HELLUVA RIDE! I have really enjoyed your work. Thank you.

 :band:  :wavey:

Enjoy your future endeavors.

Regards,
Quiet Man

BTW, can you share any information about your 'other projects'?
