Congrats on getting the win ... turns out there are a lot of hidden negmods to the diplo score so that +12 you see on the glance can easily be only +7 after the hidden stuff, including in our case a -1 for us having a PA when others did not. I think we had the UN built and our first vote on victory some 50 turns before we actually achieved it.

We didn’t think of the UN giveaway, and might not have used it even if we had as we thought we had enough allies lined up for the vote. But those hidden negmods did us in. At least we are smarter now.

This post saved me having to hunt all the other threads. I think Da Vinci is overlooking the fact that there have been so many games that have stalled that it's difficult to judge whether a team has finished or not.

Well, that may be true for the slowpokes, but when the team playing the fastest suddenly stops, I figured in our case it would be pretty obvious. Actually I’m just as happy it was not so apparent.

Sam, the only mid turn save I have is this. It was saved when I thought the game is going to crash. I saved and restarted the computer. Hope you get the same results.

all. My daughter has been awsome so far. How many 2 day olders are out there playing civ4 with her dad? At 4 am? No complains what so ever. No I am not going to let my better half know. She last saw me on the rocker.

I want to play but my computer is putting a damper on my game as it get advanced. I would like to be a reserve with the team. I think I have some decent strategic thoughts I would like to share with the team to send Gandhi to space. So if it is OK with you guys, I will sign up as a reserve. let me know.

Why not sign up as a regular team member anyway? If you find the computer can't handle it at some point then just say so and become a non playing member at that point. Personally I found my computer was starting to struggle on my last turn but it survived; just. As long as you have set auto saves to happen every turn then you're probably fine in most cases.

We'll have far fewer civs in the next game which should help as well. However if you feel you can't manage that then I'll be happy to have you as a dedicated lurker.

ditto, Htadus...no reason to not play the early turns when your computer can handle them. I've got some ideas as well, but think its best to keep them quiet until we get our dedicated thread for that game We don't want da vinci figuring out our thoughts

Please sign up ! Even if you just sign up as a lurker. In our current CIV 3 SGOTM 12 we also have one member who is not playing, but throws in his valuable opinions.

Yep, that works. I was a bit lazy as all I did was gift Communism to Cyrus, build any old stuff and watch Huayna's ex ice city fall to Kublai. Nice to see us achieve an Augustus Caesar performance.

Jenarie is new, but eager to learn, just as Dagnabit is its a shame Dagnabit disappeared...it'd be nice to have him as either a player or lurker for us.

Yes I did. As a matter of fact the spoiler text is from the turn log provided at the time of submittal. They probably are a bit busy with all the games getting posted.

There are not so many unallocated players left, but I think some teams will merge as there are a few teams with just 2 or 3 players until now.
