Bulbing philo and trading for those military techs seems our only option. Jabah's analysis on the order in which to trade for them looks sound to me. I agree with education - we need to get Oxford University up ASAP. For that we need our stone back
With (hopefully) Philo, CS, Machinery, feudalism + what we have now (and none at Monopoly after the mandatory trades), what are we considering worth trading for ?
Lightbulb Philo
Trade Philo for Machinery with Asoka, then trade for Feudalism with Fred
Trade Monarchy for cash
Work 2 crabs and deer
Whip lighthouse --> forge
Tech towards Liberalism (Paper)
Once we have whipped the lighthouse, and revolt to HR+bureau, we want to regrow and I don't think we will use the whip for a while so revolt to Caste is an option (on the other hand since we want to grow, we won't be using a 3rd scientist for a while and won't be using any other bonus of Caste either).
To be honnest, our defence are a bit weak if ever GW decides to come with a stack and some cats, so keeping slavery until peace seems better if we need to whip an longbow or mace (I would put 1t of production into a mace as well, just to always have the option to whip it for cheap.
Once at peace and hopefully bigger, we then could revolt to Caste+Pacifism and Judaism and take advantage of GPP prodcuction.
If we manage to get peace while still growing for a while and building 'buildings' we could revolt to judaism + OrgRel(+ possibly caste in advance).
Jabah
@ Kodii
not sure about the trade Monarchy for cash, depending on how money we need to upgrade all our troops, I won't sell it for cheap anyway.
Sorry for the delay once again, but it seems that I will not find time to play today, so unless you want to keep moving ASAP, I can get to it tomorrow.
T0 350BC - Reconfigure Malabar; Bulb Philo; Swap to lighthouse and whip
IBT - We successfully defend against two LBs
T1 325BC - I stop. Washington will take peace for Literature (which I will take if there isn't any argument), but the more important thing is to decide how to trade Philosophy. Asoka won't give us Machinery for Philosophy.
FURTHERMORE... neither Asoka NOR Fred will give us Feudalism for Philosophy

Agree with Chmoosi, milk as much cash as possible (selling cheap techs up to Monarchy I guess), and recheck Asoka first for Machinery (since we will be able to add it for feudalism to Fred).
If no deal possible, then I would wait for CS and try to use CS as a trading option for Fred.
Also, after peace GW might become also a trading possibility (not sure we want to give him CS, but since he is without metal)
Jabah
PS - Also don't forget to try to 'beg money' from everyone pleased with us first (Asoka, fred and Lisa ?)
PS2 - Has any of our archers reached 10XP now ? (one was at 9 last turn, but µI can't remmeber if he was not injured)
T1 325BC - I haven't never done such intricate dealing before...
I take peace with Washington for Literature
Lizzy gives us 30G
Being the only AI without Monarchy, I trade it to Toku for his gold
Being the only AI without Currency, I trade it to Izzy for her gold
Being one of the few without MC, I trade it to JC for Monotheism and his gold
I trade Philosophy and MC to Washington for Feudalism and his gold
I trade Philosophy and most of our gold registry to Asoka for Machinery...
No negative modifiers were incurred, but we were brought up to Pleased with JC and Izzy
Phew... now to continue on
T3 275BC - CS is in, and I do this:
T4 250BC - This trade appears and I take it.. she is the only AI who will trade Compass --> reveals that several AIs have Optics and potentially have contact with the second continent
IBT - Washington builds Kashi; Alex is WHEOOH and guess who his worst enemy is?... Washington
IBT - JC offers Optics for Philosophy, but when I see what other offers are available, he refuses to trade it...
T8 150BC - The Egyptian Civilization has been destroyed
IBT - Lizzy demands CS... and after some contemplation I cave in. I only wish I got the chance to trade Optics for CS with her, but at least we got +4 out of it
T11 75BC - Forge completes, begins Granary
IBT - We meet Cyrus, who is the new score leader and Taoist. He lacks only Monotheism so I gift it for the +4 bonus

Nice work, Kodii : good choice to break when you did, and the trading was pretty much perfect. I don't have time to look at the save, but my gut feeling says skip Liberalism and head straight to Nationalism => MT after Education.
I'm now OOP as I'm off to DC/NYC for business/pleasure, and I don't expect to resurface on the boards until 11th June or thereabouts.
Keep up the good work, guys, and enjoy the game. May the RNG be with you!
-We need more defence! Another war would suck bad. Let's just hope that Alex isn't planning anything on our heads. We are the last in the power graph yknow.. I vote for kicking one scientist off and putting it to hammers. After granary we need at least two longbows.
-We could trade alex some cash for lit and update one of our archers right now.
-Also JC is willing to trade philo for optics and cash.
-Also how about a second worker after the pasture finishes? Then I think we can get it in 2 turns..
-Isn't Nationalism researchable by GA? If we pop one next maybe then we should go for nationalism, otherwise definately edu. Asoka hasn't got paper yet so we might have a chance with lib
-Also have any of you people thought about whom we should PA with? Imo asoka seems like a good choice as he is teching quite rapidly thanks to his gold.. this I was wondering also because a revolt to judaism/paci&caste would be a good idea I think and that would make us friends with asoka too. I vote we do this right after we get some defence up.
I can't see any picture ? (if they are any. Don't know if the pb is on my side or not).
Alex has been in wheooh for ages (but up to now he had no open borders with GW and lisa so even if we are the one, he can't reach.)
Military-wise, we should upgrade all our promoted units quickly (milking more cash if possible). If HE is fast, building it before units could save a few turn. I would build a (second) mace before a (fourth) lgbow.
Going for Education-Liberalism is my vote, with fastest research possible as soon as we reach our happy level (means working 2x crabs, deer, sheep, marble, 2x scientist and X coasts).
Revolt to Judaism + Pacifism & Caste is a good option when we have reach happy limit (or close to). (then change 2x scientists by as many as possible wihtout starving = keeping crabs, deer, sheep)
Well if we build more units we won't be reaching that happy limit very soon. I'd like paci because of the massive GP production we get (scientific method obsoletes our GL so those GP points aren't for forever). On further thought, I like also education next as we get uni and oxford. HE we should build as soon as we get marble, but even before that we need units imo.
If we can build a quick second worker (especially if we still have hammer invested), I am not against it. We have lots of rebuilding to do.
Don't forget that 1 forrest had regrown, so we could chop it again .
I think we should:
- trade for Optics+40g with either Cyrus (Philo) or Caesar (Philo+CS)
- sell Alex Litterature for his 70g.
- buy/sell WMap for money (but seems to have been done already)
- upgrade the best archer to lgbow (or several depending on how much money we ended with).
We will be at health limit soon, so we need to road to connect the sheep+deer, and should build a few WB (whale, fish, clam). An harbor will also help big time afterwards.
If we keep the 2scientist, we have a GPP in 3t:
if GS (80%), I suggest lightbulb Education to get asap to oxford.
if GA (20%), if the lb is Nationalism then lb also (change research after ?)
probably need to pause and discuss at that point anyway. (revolt to pacifism/caste afterwards ?)
A few comment:
the axe could have been promoted (to medic). No emergency now of course.
We have re-build the mine on stone, even if it is faster than quarry, that doesn't seems to be optimal.
I think we should have roaded at the same time as we have improved stone and deer, since we need it very soon, and will have to lose movement point going back there.
