My turnset (turns 90-103, finished 860AD)
The missions were:
1) Deal with the joint threat of barbs and Joao on our southernmost city of Knossos,
Accomplished - pulled together 3 airships, attacked 2 barb swords and 2 axes in forest after airship attack, lost a mace @89% odds, but this allowed our 9-exp phalanx to finish the survivor and unlock HeoEpic.
As for Joao, his units were constantly hit with airships and stayed in the woods healing until we've bought peace for 10 gold.
After that barbs have ceased to worry us (even before GWall) or sed any envoys - I wonder what was the trigger.
2) Finish preparations and launch war against Hamurabi
Produced few more trebs, mace, airship and a newly minted musket for city defense from xbows. Figured out the tile NW from Mycenae will return to our domain in 3 turns (turned out in 4 as Hammurabi built us Pyramids
). Started at turn 97, captured Babylon at 98 without losses with GWall (so long, barbs) and Pyramids (hello, Representation) though Hammurabi have discovered Feud 1 turn before the war. Captured Dur-Kurigalzu losing only 1 treb. Ready to get closer together with Akkad which has walls.
We are 2 turns from GGeneral, thank you GWall.
3) Get to Bio and National Park ASAP
Due to war issues (lack of commerce, building units instead of wealth, such things), we had to work 3 turns on 100% cash and looked likely to miss 103-turn target for Bio. However, it was decided to hire full load of 5 scientists in Athens to speed up a GP (GS) for GAge, which was achieved on turn 102. Then, after some quick maths, it was decided a GAge will allow to cut a turn on Bio (418 bulbs per turn pre GAge and revolt to Repr, ~760 needed), which was done - and by switching our cities to research we managed to get Bio in 1 turn. 2 forests in 3rd and 4th radii were chopped for Athens, allowing NatPark in 2 turns (due turn 104).
At this point I transfer the game to the next player, as Bio changes so much in the overall gameplay.
Other events
Domestic - finished irrigation link towards Knossos, settled Pharsalos at the east of Greenland, settled Ephesus south from Athens, sent a settler to east of Maracaibo (pigs, seafood, lake), 2 more are under construction to settle all the attractive locations of North America. This was much delayed by Joao. Built HeroEpic in Thebes.
Foreign - sold a bunch of techs. Joao built Zeus.
Barbs have longbows, so taking their cities in Eurasia might prove to be a task. Barbs have founded Tao in Easter Island, and might become the main opponent in Liber race.
