I also played the final turns with victory also in 950 AD.
I attacked from South using a couple of towns to give easy rail access right up to mountains. However, since it took two moves to get Cav to attack the Citadel through the mountains it was probably not that significant. Playing it better, I could have shaved one turn off the game but that makes no difference as at least two other teams have finished well before us.
Looks like the winners did not conquer all the home continent and went directly for cavalry bypassing chivalry. Need to read their theads more closely but also looks like they had a different distribution of Gt Wonders between AI Civs.

I would like to say thanks all for letting me play on this team, its been very fun and educational, never have MM'ed so much in a game , though it was fun. Sorry for all the screw-ups, hopefully I'll be better next game. Anyways, nice job Wotan, now I see why you took on the job of leading us! Fantastic leadership.
