Good news, everyone!
I got lucky today and bought myself 2 more GBs of RAM so hardware problems should be solved for now.
If you don't mind I'll keep the playing order as is.

I do like the comment some people made earlier about what do we need to reveal with the W (or not reveal) to affect our decision on settling. Do we need to reveal those tiles to make up our collective mind? If not, then SW is definately the way to go for the W.
We could just use a regular spreadsheet and attach it to posts, or use dropbox, or I could whip up some small upload web-app to take care of storing the thing.Sorry that Google spreadsheet won't work. Is it worth trying to figure out a way to accomplish it?
Ok, so nukes it is.
Looks like we've decided on Warrior 1N; now, let's discuss some other opening stuff:
Does anyone have an opinion on starting build? I'm for worker first.
And it might be a good idea to have some outlines on the techpath, even though there are still a lot of unknown variables in play.
IMHO, we're going to need BW fast, to make use of all those forests around, meaning Mining > BW early on. Also if we're going after the Oracle, Myst > Med/Poly > Priesthood will be necessary as well, as well as prereqs for the tech we want to take.
Good thing is that we start with TWheel and Agri, so we can get a discount on writing by researching pottery Writing.
I'd leave AH/Hunting for now, unless we got the resources in the vicinity.
It sure is, but as long as we're discussing things, best to let every element be come by, to make sure we're on the same page.Worker first is almost always the best move. Especially since we have the Wheel, he will never go idle.
Not quite familiar with Hemispheres, but I'll take your word for it. I agree that hunting should indeed wait if in any way possible. Fogbusting gets expansive otherwise.Hunting is always good to leave until later to allow you to keep building warriors. We're going to need quite a few for fogbusting (Hemispheres has a lot of land)
That would allow us to rex a lot harder.... I'm fine with it in general, but we'll have to look at the available commerce to make a decision. How about Oracling Currency? A CS slingshot will not be possible on Emperor with such a low-commerce start.

Expansive it is by definition, expensive it can become![]()

Well, that's that. Not to take away from DS's new and bright leadership, but I felt a post of this nature was still needed before play commences.![]()

I like a leadershipstyle that is empowering, so if anything, it accounts of good leadership that your team does things spontaneously and intrinsically motivated

AlanH has mentioned in the maintenance thread (subscribe to it!) that the saves will become available just after midnight september 21st CST, which I think is at 8 in the morning CET. I don't know about Ondskan, but apart from Norvin I think we're all in that time zone, if we conveniently forget about the hour difference on pigswill's funny little island.![]()
Isn't it 7am CET? anyway, what's more important (and unclear to me) is whether it 7/8am on Friday(21) or on Saturday(22)

In any case I interpret it as the 21st. You'll notice tomorrow when you're eager to post a bazillion screenshots before going to work.
