SGOTM 18 - Unusual Suspects

No on Eng trade to Joao. Worst case scenario. We trade it to Joao, he spams trebs and takes Swinger's pad. Getting Engineering six turns earlier could make a difference on immortal. We are royally screwed if he takes Swinger's Pad. And to get Compass?? We don't need compass. Wait until it falls in our lap! Same for HBR. We don't need it!

We can't think about worst case, him getting Engineering just 6 turns earlier is not going to make any difference. It quickens the tech pace, and it is another tech to Joao (we get a permanent +1 for every 7 techs we trade him.)

Evil DoWed Joao, so he must have some units, and I saw no evidence of Evil losing anything despite him being the target of a holy war earlier.

edit: Chariot defending Kark isn't just giving GK's units XP, it soaks up an attack, giving us the potential for our reinforcements to arrive.
 
If we try to keep Kark, then we should pull the Pike out of Besh as well. He can get there in 2 turns versus 3 for the others. Besh looks safe - no?
Tough call either way. The downside of sacking 3 units is the XP for the attackers. Would hate seeing them at 3C.
I do like the mounted killing pike on the way!
 
Had another look at the save, I'm OK for moving the Beshabik pike. It is safe.
 
Joao is battling both GM and Evil at the moment. He has a stack of Beserkers he has to deal with. I think he can use a little help actually.

I am fine trying to keep Kark. Not enamored with any of the units we have there. But we should take out the elephant camp. It is the only real unit he has that can hurt us.

This turn, we can move the chariot(s) to the ivory. Then next turn they can pillage. [we could put axe on road to block keshik movement (assuming tile without road truly doesn't have one)
One is enough to pillage the ivory - if he doesn't send a keshik after it. (pillage order =camp, then road - right?)
Probably the keshik will concentrate on Karakorum.
so, I am leaning to option 3. We could reinforce with 2 pikes (1 from Besh) and 1 chariot.

Question: can GK see Beshbalik garrison? I don't think so. If not then there should be no chance he takes opportunity of empty city.
 
I think beshabik is safe because GK cannot reach it in his go. We have a few piles that can move in next turn if required.

I don't see anything in the logs
moved 2 triremes, 1 galley w spy, and dropped off the spy
next turn, one of the triremes was at 0.2 health
(edit) it probably survived an attack by a caravel, there were no caravels in screenshot I took turn spy was dropped off (not posted) but there is one in the city (last picture). why doesn't this battle show in the logs? (or am I just blind - time to sleep)
