SGOTM 19 Maintenance Thread

How can you mine a resource you can't see?? I suspect KCD will look at the resource screen to determine you have all the resources. I think the rules are quite clear. If you pick a corp that requires modern resources like aluminium. coal or Uranium you need to research the related tech and have all the resources worked or traded for on the map.
No,
I think all you need to do is have all the resources worked or traded for. You don't have to actually learn the tech. Although you would probably want to.
For aluminum, AFAIK it always occurs on hills. So, if you control and mine every hill, then you will also control all the aluminum. :mischief:

Are we allowed to play by our own house rules (this being Monopoly and all) and invent ad hoc Corporations? E.g. I have always wanted to get into the candy game to follow my hero:

So I would need to found a city called 'Corporation HQ,' build a Market, Grocer, Bank, and Factory (and a Supermarket?) and then monopolize Dyes and Sugar, right? :deal:

Serious questions only in this thread. :nospam:

In case anybody hasn't noticed, the team saves are available.

Quick question: if we own more than 1 Corporate HQ, am I right to assume that we don't have to collect all resource instances of all owned Corps and can just choose one Corp from which to collect all instances?

Corollary: if we own more than 1 Corporate HQ and fail to monopolize every instance of any of them, how does the turn-penalty work?

Sorry for being... well an A.S.S. I must say  ;)

Good question.
I presume we must collect only the resources for 1 Corp, but better be safe.

You only NEED to have one corp HQ. If you have more than one HQ, whichever gives you the least turn penalty on resource monopolization will be your monopoly corporation for purposes of sgotm19 placing.

Ok thanks.

I know we only NEED 1 Corp HQ , but if an AI city is sitting on an instance of the resource and the AI decides to found a Corp HQ of its own, by capturing that city you get an extra HQ regardless of the fact you need it or not ;)

KCD's post above answers your follow-up question already...
That's why I said thanks...

I was just stating that we can end up with more than 1 HQ independently of wether we need it or not... :shifty: didn't want to offense anyone

I just want to inform you all that because of the existence of a Lurker Thread, I no longer will be posting in any team threads. I've always been a little worried my harassments could influence teams, and now I can make fun of you all with an audience that cannot be spoilered.

So do not feel bad if I do not comment in your team thread for this game... be assured I am reading your threads and having a lot of fun mocking mere mortals.:cowboy:

A question about the third rule:

"3) You may not offer nor accept peace or cease fire in any war declared by you until an enemy city is captured or one of your cities is lost by capture, or the war is ended by UN/AP resolution."

If we were to be in control of the AP/UN, are we allowed to propose the resolution to end the war before capturing/losing to capture a city?

If someone else is in control of the AP/UN and proposes such a resolution before we capture/lost to capture a city, are we allowed to vote in favor of the resolution?

Purely theoretical at this point, but just in case....

Both are allowed. You may end the war with UN/AP any time you are able.

"an" enemy doesn't specify who the enemy is. Does that mean we could declare war on 2 AIs, capture one enemy city and then CF/DoP with both? Alternatively, DoW 2 AIs, capture a city from AI1 and CF/DoP AI2?

No, LawyerCastle. :joke: An enemy city for purposes of this rule is a city owned by the same AI you have declared war upon. Each AI you declare war on has this rule applied, so you best plan to capture at least one city from each AI if you make a DOW on two AI's. Or lose a city to each. Or enjoy a very long war.
