SGOTM 22 - Anti-TSR

Where are those chariots going, anyway?

They were looking for a barb
Currently: reveal the area they're in now on over to Damascus.
One of them returns to Rome. (optionally) one goes south to the Baghdad attack point or to peek at Mecca if something bad had happened to the 3rd chariot.

Okay, I tested the teleport and where the worker stands, you're right, he teleports to DaGift. If he moves 1NW, he teleport 1NW.

Btw, I don't uderstand your application of your formula: 8 + 2.5 * 2 =13

Where did the 8 and 2.5 come from?

Also nice to peek into Darius ivory city long enough to see it's population. That could be an ivory+stone city for us, if needed.

I calculated the banana-SW tile. I guess banana would be a slightly shorter jump:
7.5 + 2.5 * 2 = 12.5

The jump is 2.5 to either tile.
DaGift to Banana is 7.5
DaGift to BananaSW is 8

Okay, I get what you're saying.
1. Pick the nearest city, based on standard tile counts.
2. Pick the jumpto tile based on the formula for that city.
That also explains why it will jump NW if it moves to the NW tile.

Do whatever you think is best. We can't steal workers this turn anyway, right? Next turn maybe steal Currency at -40% if he completes it. Or maybe have one chariot move on to Sal Land and one stay behind to grab whatever workers. I don't see any priority to get to 7XP for the super medic. 20XP is plenty.

.

true, we can't steal this turn, and that worker in our land just started the road, so he'll be there a while. I'll roll the turn, but I want to do some more city build planning before I play past that.

PPP 113-122
I managed to fill the 4 boats with 8 big units, so we can have 10 units at Bagd T122--none amphibious.
I'm producing +6 units for Rome, so we can afford to send the 2nd chariot out to check on Darius' stone area.
I'm considering some spears for Rome defenders since we have and angry Hanni and possible angry Darius both with horse UUs

Steal
Currency at -50%

Misc
WoodyII: stake out DaGift worker
Chariots: 1 goes on galley, then to Mecca T117T116, 1 stakes out Darius' stone area for workers. 3/5 chariot goes to Damascus, then south to Baghdad attack position.
Send another chariot to Darius's stone area; The two units there will need to be back in Rome if we capture a city.
Keep an eye on the Sal Chariot

City plans:

Bovino
: +2 Rome defenders by T122
City needs to work grass tile at size 3 to grow and 2whip T120, so no point mining. Might as well do the winery (pFarm on the way).
T113 chop granary (then worker->pFarm Bovino-SW, then winery)
T114-120 whip Praet
121 chariot (maybe a spear, but chariot can get to Rome T122)

HC : +3 for Rome
113-116 3xpCatPraet
117-118 whip 3xpCat (for Rome)
119 spear or 120 Praet, etc. (for Rome)

Rome : (if we lose a spy, then finish or whip the spy, otherwise maybe finish the chariot. Need to test if we can afford to whip either and get to size 12 on time)
T113-122 Parthenon

FC: +1 for Rome
I considered that we might be less aggressive here...and rejected that. We don't have the improved tiles yet, so we are whipping!
113 2whip Praet (work the Food tiles)
(size 4)
114 Praet (chop then mine)
115 Galley4 (chop then wine road needed for travel)
(size 5)
116 whip cat
T117-t120 Praet or something.. spear? (for Rome) Maybe a galley instead if Rome doesn't need it.
Galley

I would prefer Bovino whip from p5-p3, always working all three wineries, so it needs another farm before a mine. Maybe even borrow the farm from Rome, if and when possible. Fairly high priority for new slaves.

Yea, but it will only be a couple turns that we go back to size 2. And we need the units for rome. We'll start 5->3 next turnset.

Also, getting 2 units from Bovino means we might be able to get an extra galley from FC. Of course, if the Darius worker steal is completely off, then we can send chariots home and adjust our plans.

Oh, yea, I forgot to report. 2 stone workers disappeared, so it's only 2 total workers. Passing on the DoW for now.
Hmm...maybe they went to the ivory city. I'm liking those workers. I think we'll probably end up walking many of our units to Damascus, if we can build the road in time. The galley chain from FC to Mecca is too long, based on our hammer capabilities. We'll chain from from Sal Land onward though, for sure.

Plus, we'll want those workers for chopping Damascus if it's not barren when we capture it.

But the steal doesn't have to be T113 either. I'd probably use both chariots for the worker steal, rather than sending one on, but it's your turnset. :) This whole thing is so messy, who knows what's best?

If we attack Baghdad instead of Mecca first :vomit:, then we'll need a boatload of galleys to stockpike our SoD for Mecca, so I expect we'll need a few more galleys from FC (not to misunderstand what I was saying about the galley chain above).
