[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

I'm surprised the slider is about the same as 9 merchants. for +8:gold: we only lose 13:science:
Shouldn't the loss we take in Science (@ 175%) outweigh the sci -> merch changes in one city?
I'm not sure either. :dunno:
Science City has a x3.35 science multiplier

how about 80% slider and all sci in Canal?
Maybe Science's Market is making up for some of this.

Here are the results of 9 scientists in Canal and 80% slider:
100%: -129:gold: per turn +1134:science:
80%: -59:gold: per turn +1008:science:
Spoiler :

+70:gold: per turn and -126:science: per turn

With scientists instead of merchants in Canal, we are gaining 50:science: for -27:gold: per turn for a ratio of 50/27 = 1.85
With raising the slider from 80% to 100%, we are gaining 126:science: for 70:gold: per turn for a ratio of 1.8

So, working scientists in Canal is a tiny bit better than using the slider?

Phew, lowering the slider is not the disaster I thought it would be.
That is a relief.

Will start playing now working Scientists in Canal unless anyone has objections.

Playing Real Game now from PPP

Turnset #3 T186 - T188

Continuing from Turnset #2

T186 - Great Engineer born in Germany

Paris has 329:hammers:
St. Petersburg has finished and started something new.

Science is putting 88:hammers: into Hagia
Clam City is putting 63:hammers: into Sistene

Saladin has a stack of Horse Archers approaching Aachen.
I can't believe asking over and over each turn to attack Aachen really works. :D

Pasture and farm pillaged for 4:gold: and 5:gold:

**Edit**
Game paused and debating with team.
This post will be duplicated and continued in a later post...

due to rounding, it could be as low as 45 for -27. So as low as 1.67

Ah.
I'll work the merchants then.

Cease Fire with Sitting Bull is now on the table.
Our Caravel and spy can enter closed borders.

I think keeping the war going is best way to keep spies from being built as long as we keep killing Triremes.
Might also be able to snag that worker using our galley.

I think there might be another option…run all merchants no scientists in science city. The reason is very simple, great scientist can only be used to build another academy…fission is not needed.

Red light! Hold up Kait.
This could be a great idea. We need calculate. It would be a small gamble tho.

Is the thinking that a GM is worth more than a GS at this point? Because the science multipliers are much better than the gold multipliers in Science (obviously).

When do we get the next great person from Science?

I've brought this idea up like twice.

We lose 2300:science: and gain 855:gold:

The great merchant is not guaranteed.
It is born on T205 or T206 and has to travel overseas.
We only get about 10 turns to spend our cash.

We are currently at 266/1800 good 97% scientist 3% artist

The great Scientist can settle and give 300:science: over 10 turns.
I don't think a 2nd academy would help elsewhere.

T204. spread to Prague? T206?

By working 12 merch vs 12 sci
we get 45:gold: and lose 99 :science: ratio: 2.2
we get 45:gold: and lose 120 :science: ratio: 2.67

If we build a bank:
63:gold: for -120:science: ratio : 1.9

Actually the research multiplier in science is subject to the research slider at breakeven point. Cottages gem mines trade route income will be converted to gold whenever we cannot run 100% slider. If we are to take this option seriously, bank is also better than building wealth.

I just changed the specialists in the game and we actually lose 110.55:science: I'm not sure how that math works.

But like WT said, now that we have money problems this may be the only way we can keep the slider at 100%... And with a GM (at decent odds) we can cash in and run the slider at 100% for the final 10ish turns running scientists everywhere.
