Maybe SB and Peter won't like each other enough to OB, so Peter can't sail thru him.

If we OB Peter now, we can cancel if he starts making progress to the east and teleport him back

I favor switching to Peter so we can maybe get a look at what he is teching.

We can only see SB's tech by running 100% slider, or if he spends his points he has against us in a mission against us.

Probably poisoning water in Canal City after Sitting Bull gets Alphabet.

As long as Peter does not put any espionage on us, we can see his teching in around 25 turns I think.

If Peter starts spending on us, we should probably put our espionage back on Sitting Bull.

1. Are we OBing Peter or not? My vote is yes. I don't want to try to trap his wb. I want him to meet SB to loosen up tech trading options.

2. Are we putting EPs on Peter or leaving them on SB? I vote that we put them on Peter now but the discussion is a bit unclear to me.

I just checked and Peter put a full 5 EP on us IBT. That means that he doesn't know anyone else yet, right? Does this change any of the answers to the above?

Updated test game including new forest at Science-SE and removed forest near Clams City that Kait mentioned.
I moved Confucianism to Cows to match the real game. I didn't check to see if Cows got any culture IBT so Silver could have too much culture (where it was founded in my test game) and Cows could have too little culture. It can be fixed manually but I forgot to check it.

Haha. I was very nervous that I'd pick the wrong thing. The first pop-up is what to research after CoL so I picked CS just in case it was actually the free tech from the Oracle. Although, the IW sling would have been pretty sweet!! We could start improving the gems mines right now if I had and we wouldn't have to suffer from a turn of anarchy revolting to Burea to boot.

Peter does indeed have Iron Working.
We get +3bpt if we tech it ourselves.

Both also have Poly and Archery (ofc).

Really does look like Peter doesn’t know anybody else. His EP spending percentage is 107% which is exactly 5 to 4 ratio and he’s been doing that on us for three turns now so it seems unlikely that he’s spending also on anybody else at the same time.

Problem with trading for IW is Peter easily might not meet SB for 20-30 turns. Meeting in tge next 7t seems remote.

I think we have to bite the bullet and research IW ourselves. If this map has a lot of dead ends which both SB and Peter appear to be (since they are both putting +5/turn on us), we won't be meeting any of the other AIs until Astronomy.
