SGOTM 9 Signup Thread

@crazybeard and Bahzell, and any other newcomers I've missed, welcome to the madhouse. I'll draft up the teams in a few more days when we've given everyone time to decide what they are doing.

For all people signing up, particularly those who haven't played SGOTM before, please take note. It can be very disruptive for a team to lose members during the game - more so than in a non-competitive SG, because we can't often draft new players in to replace those who leave. Most players who might like to step in have probably read other team threads, and are 'spoiled'. One or two teams playing SGOTM 8 have suffered badly from players going missing in action.

So please read the threads and check the levels of activity and involvement that are normal in the games we've played so far, and make sure you are happy with that level of commitment for this one :)

I should be able to manage checking in and posting on a daily basis on average - more on some, not at all on others. And of course I will find the time to do my turnsets. From what I can see in some of the threads, that seems enough. But as I said in my signup post, this will be my first SG (let alone SGOTM) so I might be waaaaay off. If so, just let me know... no need to clutter the drain with slackers like me ;)

Decided to play, but will spend minimum time for that. Just settle at new place (Brasilia).
1. vanilla
2. deity +.
3. Any team. (I am not in a mood to be a team leader).

I'm here for someone to teach me how to get another civ to launch.:hmm:

1. [ptw]
2. diety capable but not necessarily comfortable.
3. any team (first time SGOTMer despite prompting MadBax to start it)

I hope to keep up with my team and am willing to sacrifice my next GOTM entry for the RL time necessary. Just please don't make me a captain.

CF! Welcome back to the competition that evolved from your original concept! :worship: All we need now is for M-B to come around the corner ....

As the appointed team leader of a PTW team in need of people (Team Durkz, we seem to have lost two during the previous game), we would be happy and honored to welcome both Randy and ControlFreak into the team. :)

AdrianE- Would you like to join Team Own?
I think that's a good idea, too. AdrianE, do you have C3C? I think that's the preferred version for any remnants of Team Own. :goodjob:

Paul#42--would you like to join Team Own?

@Jove thank, but I would rather do PtW.

@Niklas thanks for the invite, but honored? I'm not that good.

@Randy The "honored" must have been for you because it's not for me. Your 9th place finish last month and the little globe next to your name in the Pantheon of Heroes is proof of that.

@Niklas I'm happy and honored for your offer Niklas. I'd be happy to play on your team if the SGOTM staff is willing.

{5yr old's smilie addition: :king: }

Well my prognostication was close (see post #154 on http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=125341&page=8 )

Sign me up please

Level: Emperor
Version: From Civ 2 to Civ 4 and all in between
Team: Jeffelammer if possible (would also like to play with ControlFreak or Bede if Jeff's bunch is gone)

Team Obormot will not compete here, but I would like to play this crazy variant, so if any team wants me? Wacken seems prohibitivley strong btw.

Team Wacken is strong in ultra-fast domination games. This very very strange variant makes our best qualities nearly useless... ;)

in.

@ hey goz - welcome bak

sign me up for the same idiot team as last time. BTW, exactly, what prize do we get for winning the spam count?

Oh my, aren't we humble. ;)

Since this is a team effort, your individual skills matters less. None of us on Team Durkz are really really top players individually, I guess we have a few top-10 positions between us (2?) but certainly no medals. But together we've managed to play some really good games. So what really matters I guess is how much you put your heart into it. I'd much rather have a dedicated Warlord player on the team than a Sid player who drops out. :)

That said, you guys are good. Anyone who's capable of winning on deity couldn't be called otherwise. Nor someone with an award. :)

Sounds seductively interesting - I had planned a break from civ

Count me in

Any team that's enthusiastic and keeps the game running
C3C is my preference but I have had a little PTW experience recently
Level - comfortable at emporer, scraped through DG, never played deity

C3C
Emperor solo, higher for SG
Team WOODPECKER for president
