SGOTM 9 Signup Thread

Jove, we all make mistakes, that's accepted, we all ask stupid questions, that's accepted. Just dive in, listen to what is being said, contribute your own opinion and just generally take part, when you play follow the group decision, play your turns on time and don't just disappear without notice, and you'll be accepted too!

It can be intimidating joining an established team, but teams do change over time, gaining and losing members as interest or real life changes so there will be teams that need another C3C player. AlanH will try and slot you in where you'll have a good game.
 
@Jove - From one SGOTM noob to another, come on in, the waters fine!

Let the SGOTM staff place you somewhere. (That's what they're paid for.;) )
I've got three points for you:
  1. As you know, the CivFanatics community and especially the GOTM subset is warm, friendly and always willing to :beer:
  2. the spoilers I've read of yours show you have a great ability to communicate/teach your play to others. As long as you don't go AWOL, you can do no wrong
  3. Being ranked 10th in XOTM should make any team happy to have you :p

And may us noobs bring home the laurels![ptw] [c3c] :hammer:

Yes, you are ... being too hasty ;). Please don't go away, Jove. Good, communicative players like you are always welcome. I'm willing to bet your error rate is far lower than mine and many others around here. Any team I allocate you to should welcome you with open arms.
 
Okay okay, enough support :blush: I don't want to be the problem noob either. 3C3, we don't have to decide the level beforehand right?, and whatever team. :cool: Is there an SGOTM faq/etc page?

CommandoBob is ready to take the SGOTM plunge.

1) I am comfortable at Monarch and am learning Emperor from tao and nerovats (two different games).
2) PTW or Vanilla is fine; I cannot play C3C (hardware issues).
3) I am a free agent.
 
Will I need any files to play in PtW? If so where do I get them and where do I put them?
 
As stated in the first post in this thread, you REALLY need to read the SGOTM Reference thread. The information in those posts was put together painstakingly by mad-bax, and almost every question I am asked during SGOTMs is answered there. Game-specific questions are usually answered in the initial posts of your team threads when they are opened.

Please read the information we provide, and come back if you still have questions after you have read it.

Okay, this is a re-application to playing in this SGOTM!!! :crazyeye: I have hammered down my long-term internet situation. There may be a few bumps when I have to transfer apartments (down time of a few days), but I will have internet for months to come!

I promise not to flip-flop any more! :p

Between first games in CIV and Cotm18, I had not much free time to access the internet lately (not much sleep either :crazyeye: ).
 
In spite of the arrival of C-IV we still have over 70 players willing to suffer the trials and tribulations of another Gyathaar variant. I've put together 11 teams. Some of the teams from SGOTM 8 have dissolved, and some are hiding behind pseudonyms, and some have more than 6 players in recognition of possible scheduling problems as we head into the holiday seasons. I have assigned a couple of players to CDZ. Please let me know if you prefer, and are able, to choose your own. I hope to open the team threads in a couple of days, when the teams lists are reasonably firm, and then to release the game on Friday, 11th November.

The lists are strictly in alphabetical order, it's up to you to decide roster playing orders, and they are subject to change based on your feedback.

Please contact me now if I've missed you out, or if you are on a team but can't play, won't play, prefer not to play with the other members of the team ... whatever. Please don't drop out when the game is half over if the problem is foreseeable, and can be fixed now.
