I'm still thinking of something brutal. Like 5CC PLUS AW going for conquest win preferably before 1000AD. Scoring: Sid (joke). We can have 1 army this way. Or even two. Build 3 extra cities, form an army and abandon cities same turn. Asking of people who played it previously: Can this be done?

akots: I'll play 5CC AW with you if you'll have me.

EDIT: I'm a bit spoilered, but I can go at the end of the roster.

OK, it would be nice to give us another try against ainwood's GOTM staff team! They are chosing a path of least resistance, not limiting themselves to 5 cities! Who would get an earlier win?

5CC, AW, RBC rules regarding exploits, Conquest as a target victory preferably before 1000AD.

Assuming score bonuses get cumulative (?) we score Monarch+Monarch basically +1 level versus Regent twice (can make Emperor +2 levels over Regent) + 7% (RBC rules) + some other victory condition... hm, that might be tricky if Domination does not count. UN may be but unlikely. Hope we would not have to play to Space Race. Well, it is possible to figure it out later. We'll get these +10% somehow.

Please sign in, we need at least 1 or 2 more players! Or more to form two teams! I would humbly ask for PTW 1.27 but would be OK if it is considered unappropriate and settle down for Civ3 1.29.

A diplo victory in AW... If anyone could do it, you guys would be the ones.

No problem. Just have to go behind "What's the big picture" on the turn we build UN or some turns later when elections are due, make peace then at F4 screen and hold elections. Depending on situation, we may win. But going behind "What's the big picture" is RBC exploit-like thing. And this would be violation of AW but for a fraction of a turn when we don't move. Wonder if we hold election while being at war. Might lose as well depending on situation. So, guess it would not work. Alas.

On the other hand, if there are 3 civilizations left and one does not have contact with the other (did not meet and had no opportunity to trade for contact - early Immortal rush contact prevention strategy) but we have contacts with both... How would they vote then? Larger one for itself and smaller one abstain? Or they'll meet each other during UN session and both vote against us. What if they are at war with each other? Don't know, too complicated this whole UN idea.

There's a way to win diplo without stopping always war, even for an instant. It's pretty difficult to set up though. Want to hear it?

You have to make sure that none of the other civs have any cities, only settlers. If they have a settler then they continue to be in the game, if they don't have any cities then they're not eligible to vote. If you're the only one to vote then it's a dead cert!

Cool! Thanks a lot. We get some wondering settler, create a corridor to direct it to a mountain, surround but don't kill and keep him sitting there waiting for UN. Well, he can build a city on the way but it is possible though tricky. Or get a settler to a galley, surround the galley, put some unit on coast so that he cannot unload and again wait for UN.

Very creative solution! I love it when I'm right. :mischief:
Not very in the RBCiv spirit, though. :hmm: Did you ever try it Dianthus? Can you call a vote in such a circumstance? You'd think there would not be a second candidate.

I decided to play OCC by me, myself and I this time, I picked a couple of imaginary friends so we are a full team :) And we are going for conquest.

I would really like to join a team, but time isn't on my side atm and I don't want to slow stuff down.

I would join a real team if I were you gozpel, much more fun. One of the good things of playing in a team is that people can help each other out by swapping when needed for instance. In the discussions you can be involved inand of influence to the game even when you're not playing the turns. I've been able to join the last two games even when I didn't have time for a solo game.

BTW love your sig, I love that song. :)

@Mad-Bax - I'd like to get in on this. I'll have to catch up on my reading later, but I'm interested.

I haven't done this myself, but I saw it featured in SOTD a while back. I just had a quick check, it was #142: Bias Election

Please ppl, may I also join the game? :hammer:
