SGOTM6 - Team Offa

We could have built hundreds (thousands? ) of workers for merge-and-whips, instead of just using this powerful technique adventitiously in the endgame.

A banned technique, I believe. It really is just as well it wasn't used earlier.

I am impressed by your apparent willingness to have micromanaged more. This game's micomanagement has rather put me off 100k attempts. It did better my only previous attempt by nearly 700 years though (way back in gotm 18).

The one thing that really could have improved our finish was getting the Pyramids much earlier. I still think it was worth the risk of going for the Pyramids build as the potential gain was so great. The TOA might have shaved a few turns off as well. But really, once we edged ahead of the others teams in culture (and probably before that) things were always looking good.

Well, that paragraph was largely a discussion of theoretical possibilities. I'm not sitting here in a state of bitter disappointment that we didn't wring more culture out of our position.

little note, our time played is more than double that of Jeffalamar

A lot of my time is artificially long. I have enough computers in my house that I don't shut down civ so I can play when I get time. So my turnsets might have 20+ hours on them.

Well, since our game was essentially over by the time we got Gunpowder, all that's needed is a short appendix to Klarius's first spoiler. I'm willing to provide that, but I'll wait a bit in case someone wants to do a more elaborate report which would rub it in more--I mean, share more of our insights with our friendly rivals [wink smiley here].

Just do it Northern Pike. :)
I'm currently not in the mood for gaining and sharing deep insights and I haven't even played since the first spoiler. :D

I do that as well on occasion, so the difference might actually be substantial. In fact, I would estimate that my downtime doubled my playtime, as after the first hour and half or so preturn I was able to go fifteen-twenty minutes/turn.

I've posted a brief final spoiler.
