SGOTM8 - Cutlery

Hey, I d/l'ed the mod file but I'm sure I don't have it in the correct directory as the mods are not showing up on my screen. If the directions are clear then I'm blind. Anyone care to give a brother a hand?

I'm not sure how the heck I ever got through SGoTM6.

I have a single folder, SGOTM, sitting under my ...Conquests\Scenarios folder. This has the art etc. sub-folders.

Make sure that after unzipping, this SGOTM folder doesn't itself have a SGOTM sub-folder. If it does, copy the contents of the SGOTM sub-folder (should contain the art etc. folders) into the Scenarios\SGOTM folder.

There, clear as Mississippi mud.

  1. Make sure that the d/l'ed mods are unzipped.
  2. Put them in a folder called SGOTM (one of the versions of the zipped file unzipped into SGOTM - C3C <- it will have to be renamed) in the Scenario folder
  3. check the test save in the reference file.
  4. Help us kick boo-tah

eDiT: x-post.....The game will still behave correctly, but you might not see olives for instance.

Okay, here's my thoughts. We're short on workers, right? Go warrior->worker @ WKBurg.

The WSTon situation:
In situations like this, I go for 2-food growth, and as much gold or shields as we need. So as much gold, then, as we need only 1 shield. Work a couple of sea tiles instead of the forest and flood plain. Then switch one sea tile to a forest not being chopped, will get us growth in 4 turns and 30 shields in 4 turns, et voila, one settler.

PHVille: I'm fine with the settler, another city now - I suggest the olives site - is going to be a good thing.

But without being able to look into other team's threads, you have to specuate. Well I guess you don't have to, but it's funner that way.
No speculation required :D. If you click the number of posts for a thread in the SGOTM 8 forum listing you get a list of the posters and their post counts for that thread.

The same information is used to build the post count table in the results page. The player posts per turn listed in the results page are just that. They don't include visitor posts, which are counted and listed separately.

List which proves they cheat and have 30 times as many lurker posts than we do :cringe:

Well, this morning's activity ought to put us ahead in the spam race for the moment. :)

Anyway, I pretty much agree with eldar - WST should concentrate on settlers, and other cities can supply the workers, at least for now. I often have my first few cities each build their own worker, until I can get a proper worker factory established. Don't know whether worker or settler is better out of PHVille until I get a chance to look at the save, but a settler, if we have enough shields to do it, is probably a good idea.

Oh, and to answer somebody's question, I believe slave workers are half as fast as normal workers, which is to say one third as fast as our industrious workers. That might change after we reach Replaceable Parts (at least, I think something funky happens with the worker speed at RP, but I can't remember what).

I see that I'm up next, but it might have to wait until tomorrow night.

RP doubles existing worker speeds.

lurker's comment: in C3C slaves work at half the speed of normal workers.. however.. if you are industrious, the slaves start to work at half the speed of industrious workers when you learn replaceable parts

Thanks Gyathaar

Huh? I hope this isn't a serious accusation?

i think, that as BEF's senior at the academy (me being a corporal and him a lowly cadet ;)) i can assure you that us idiots are, well, IDIOTS.
he shall be given extra polishing duty as punishment, starting with his HORSEMANSHIP.
ride, you big bear you, Ride like the wind....

Sorry Alan for any offense taken, it's all a big harmless joke. Like just about everything written here, at least by myself. I tried making it as absurdly exaggerated as possible, but I admit it wasn't clear from your "unused to the idiot academy" point of view.

So I guess I'll have to parade the academy with those white laced thongs again while polishing the crazy horse. And back to my normal self I'll offer thanks for your presence here, so that now they may be down to just like 20 times of our visitor posts ;)

tee hee... all this discussion about x-teams posts has gotten our post count up....

BTW, just so this isn't just spam, who's turn is it?

Minute Man's turn, and SW on deck.

OK, got it. But I can't play until tomorrow night, so there's still time for spam discussion.

Here's my morning spam: slaves do become "industrious" with the discovery of replaceable parts. I don't know if it's a bug or a "feature", but it comes in handy!

That's interesting. I've never paid attention to the speed of the slaves and always assumed that they were just half the speed of your workers.

It appears that Wacken went to the farmer's gambit again. Their score has taken off. Chunky is actually on a higher track than Wacken just one turnset behind

I've always tested worker speeds post RP, as it is the time when you get convenient stacks of workers and slaves, and thus never noticed they all blew equally before that. And there's my night spam.

So guys, what about the next towns? Barbs have been way quiet and I guess they won't bother our settling all that much in the near future, especially if we have more tiles in sight with new ones. Should we just pump the 7-8 towns we have in close core range and deal with infra and military later?

If we are to pull the infinite monkey typewriter stunt again, we better start typing :crazyeye:
