Share your ballot!

In fairness, I have no trouble believing that GhostWriter16 would vote for an atheist hardcore libertarian.

I think libertarianism is a mixed bag, but not actually needing to worry too much about the personal baggage of the person you elect is one of the potential upshots.

This is me. This is how many ballots I've managed to cast so far. I hope to get three or four times more by election day.

Would that include me?

Probably not unless the alternative sucked (Which isn't impossible.) I don't know much about your beliefs though from the vibe I get you'd probably be good on foreign policy but I'd probably disagree with you on economic policy.

If you were clear cut, out and out better than the other guy, than yes, I'd vote for you. If the other guy disagreed with me on every issue his being a Christian wouldn't save him.

I'd only vote for one of the "Main two" candidates (Barring one of them actually being GOOD) if one was far, far worse than the other, however. Otherwise I'd just vote for the Libertarian (Or Constitution candidate if the Libertarian was a "Libertarian" like Bob Barr.)

My sister and I went to vote today, on the way to go see a movie (Argo) for her birthday.

I voted for the 3 Libertarians who were running, the Republicans who had only Democrats as competitors, write-ins (my family members, plus one former classmate) rather than anyone running unopposed (even though I know none of the write-ins will be counted), and Yes on both of the referenda.

I convinced my sister to vote Libertarian for President, as well as for one of the Public Service Commissioner spots. There was no Democrat running in that race, and there is some controversy about the Republican incumbent of 18 years having conflicts of interests. He received major campaign donations from the companies he is supposed to regulate, and is a major shareholder of some of them too. I read that the Libertarian actually has a bigger campaign fund, more endorsements, and a serious chance of winning.

I actually managed to convinced my father (a hardcore republican who normally does not care for third parties) to vote for the libertarian Public Service Commissioner too. Of course, the main reason he changed his mind is because the republican is an incumbent, and a close friend of his who was elected to that commission last cycle has expressed a strong dislike for all of the incumbents.

In the 2008 election, candidates for President here in Ohio filled two full Diebold screens*. I just voted (early) and in this election there is only one screen to pick from (an even dozen). Obviously not a scientific analysis but there seem to be fewer third party candidates this time around.

*Living in a "Democratic" precinct, BHO was on the first screen with a bunch of unknowns and JMcC was on the second. This time around, with only one screen available, BHO is near the top and MR near the bottom. While I'm certain similar shananigans go on in Republican wards, I just find it amusing that political partisans never miss a trick.

Isn't it funny? Where I live in OH ( not going to say because I want a little privacy, you understand ) I had the opposite. Mitt Romney was on top.

Isn't it sad that doing that probably increases their margin by like .2% or something?

One of Romney's sons owns the company sending voting machines to Ohio. The fix is in in Ohio.

They should be forced to put candidates in order from least well known to most well known:p

Or better yet not put any candidates on the ballot (Yes, I'm serious.)

Any CFCers meeting up and having an election night in the US? Or do you all have jobs in the morning and lives? :D

Some of us on the east coast are more concerned with Sandy than anything else right now :p.

But I am voting like normal people do and head to the ballots on Election Day. None of this early voting nonsense.

I might be going to one of my labmate's houses or the common room of the apartment complex I live in. Does that count?

I'll be hanging out with my commie friends in #fiftychat. Out of respect for their feelings, though, I'm going to be keeping a very muted celebration mode going as Romney crushes Obama.

All are welcome in #fiftychat. Er, well that actually isn't true. There are a few non-allowed, but they'll instantly be kicked so no need to name names :)
