The King's Indian attack is good when black plays e6, playable but not as good if black doesn't play e6. This according to the author of the book I have on the opening. I have played it for a while and I'm not crazy about it. I usually don't lose but I usually don't win either. It's probably me but I can't seem to get anything going with this opening. It's mostly a struggle not to lose. Then again, my opposition is usually a couple of hundred points higher rated than I am, so who knows...
I usually win by a slow kings side build up then crunch. Black never seems to do much against me!
I'm not sure how good (if at all) 23. ... Be6 was. It allows white to exchange off a knight for bishop & doubles my pawns but white's knights were strong & it also gains some time after white's second knight must move due to the pawn threat.
I couldn't find a better move than that, everything else just seemed too passive. I'm curious as to what CFC's better players (and/or their chess engines) think.
