That's a pretty nice park aelf. Now, what is your frame-rate like? I hate how RCT3 can't handle large parks well at all.

Oh wow aelf. I wish I had the patience to make parks in RT3 like that :wow:

You don't need patience to procrastinate ;)

Thanks! I don't have fraps and I don't know how else I can check, but the game runs pretty smoothly on my computer, which has pretty good specs. I make parks that are either of standard size or smaller anyway, which allows me to put a lot of attention to getting the details right.

I got Fraps and my frame rate is around 30 FPS when not recording.

Anyway, new video I made:

I wish I had your coaster-making (and movie-making) skills.
Btw, have you ever tried making a tilt coaster?
Quite easy thing to make, I made one, it's called Fluch des Wirbelsturms (Curse of the Twister), uses the tilt. Then goes up again, down again, makes a Pretzel loop (Loop in direction a - Loop in direction b) and then, this looks terrifying:
It does a series of the corkshrews you get on the coasters such as Cobra in RTC2 - the corkshrews in the opposite direction. Then eventually, you break so darned hard the train's faster when it arrives in the station.

I re-installed RCT1 about 2 months ago and I've been playing it off and on. Mainly I've just been completing scenarios to unlock new ones, but I just started a game that I hope to turn into a big park. I will show screenshots when it looks acceptable. :)

I also have RCT3 somewhere, but I don't know where. I liked the extra track options and building tools (that I could never use :p), but I still enjoy the first one the most.

Thanks! For my video, I'd give the credit to inspiration from Top Gear and 2001 Space Odyssey. I was surprised that I managed to execute it with my actually rudimentary skills, though (and it's actually more fun than making the park itself!).

I'm not very good at coaster design. In fact, this coaster was the best I ever made it terms of excitement. And I haven't really tried out the more unconventional types yet, though I made a side-friction coaster for another park I'm working on, and it's pretty cool. I'll look at the coaster you recommended because I need to make another one.

The best (and perhaps the worst) thing about RCT3 is the 3D graphics. It can be pretty awful if you don't have a decent machine or if your theming doesn't come off well (you really need to combine sets or use custom scenery to get the best results). I've found that paradise island parks are beautiful in the game partly because the water effects are not bad at all. That's why I've made two of those. I'm currently working on a desert park, but it's also on an island.

I actually started off replaying Theme Park this year because that's the theme park sim I played when I was a kid. But I got annoyed at how clunky the game was, so I wanted to try out RCT2. But a friend gave me RCT3, so I started playing it and was quite happy with it.

I finished my latest RCT3 park a few weeks ago. Here are some choice pics:

I'm currently working on another one, which is the most extensive project I've attempted so far. It's an island off the coast of a Gulf state with a hotel, shopping area and theme park. It's looking good. Will post some screenshots soon.

Here's the tutorial.

There are a lot of funny quirks with this trick. For example, you gotta make sure the track is completely sealed off from the water by walls. Otherwise, dirt will appear in the glass walls. Another thing is the underwater terrain around the glass walls must be lower than the glass walls. Otherwise, dirt will appear in the glass walls. Just keep trying!

As in use aquarium paths instead of walls? I don't think that would work. I haven't really played around with the aquarium, though. But using walls seem easier anyway, unless you mean building the tracks inside the aquarium path, which is not possible as far as I know.

nonono, i mean as keep the walls but use aquarium paths instead of walled normal ones.

Oh. But it's a coaster track, not a path. Unless you meant something else. Sorry, I don't really get it

Those buildings look amazing. I always remember running out of money with my buildings looking, well, terrible.

There's a reason why park designers who focus on the aesthetic play on sandbox mode with unlimited cash :p

What do you mean it won't work? You can't fill the space up with water or does dirt appear in the glass walls?

Oh. I assume you followed the guide step by step? There must be some part of a ride that is 'exposed' to the water. Remember, it's not the walls that keep the water out. It's the fact that the ride is technically underground. Every part that is going to be submerged has to be under a layer of earth.
