Hello!

My searches has come up empty and I was wondering, in BTS 3.19, is there any way to have shared vision with another player without being on the same team?

Me and a friend likes to play together against the AI. But being on the same team changes the research/trade/DoW mechanics a bit. While we often help (and never fight) eachother, we like to keep trades "fair" and also fight (most) wars individually. Being multiplayer it's still fun to see what your partner is up to.

Is there an option for this? I might have missed it!

Thanks!

There is no such option that I am aware of at least.

Only thing you can perhaps do is trade your maps often?

Anyway, you're missing out by only playing against the AI and not being competetive amongst eachother :D

Ah, too bad.

Haha, we are quite decent against the AI (both play on Emperor), but I bet we would be terrible against human competition :D

My friend and I play the same way. Although our trading sometimes is more unconditional, especially if one of us has no chance of winning.

We have fought a few times, and I usually win, but it the game usually ends a few turns later. Basically, we both build up for a war, one of us attacks, and virtually ends the others chances for winning. One time we were on Pangaea and I sailed 5 ships all the way around the world and then burned his capital way behind his lines in one or two turns. Needless to say the game ended. If I failed...the game was pretty much over anyway...since I had no army. We are both very poor sports.

So we find non combat ways to undermine each other. I remember propping up many AI civs with tech, units and money to resist his army. He's the war monger and I'm the builder...so I'm never ready for a war when he is.

If you and your friend would like to play me and my friend some time, let me know. :) Throw in a few AI for good measure. We usually play once every few weeks for a few hours at a time. Not a whole lot of availability I'm afraid. :(

But to answer your question....no, there is no shared vision unless you are on a team.
