SheepNES: Alternative Cold War

To: The Empire of Japan and the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere
From: The United States of America

Since Japan has proved to be exceedingly friendly to Western efforts to expand peace and prosperity over the past few years, we would like to propose a joint summit in Honolulu, to be called the Summit for Asia-Pacific Growth and Development. All nations bordering the Pacific Ocean can be invited to attend, perhaps culminating in a free-trade agreement between our nations.

From: The United States of America
To: ADTO, Commonwealth Alliance

We have been considering merging these two alliances into one joint group dedicated to the resistance of fascist imperialism. Or to keep the individual groups, but join them under one umbrella organization, to allow for greater military and diplomatic cooperation. Please send us your thoughts on this.

This seems like a great idea, and South Africa fully supports it.

To combine our alliances will ensure a massive force at our disposal to reist any foe who dares to stand in the face of democracy and seeks to undermind the rights and equality we have died for in all our years of revolution and bloodshed. We each have suffered for freedom, we must now hold eachother up to ensure that bloodshed is not in vein.

True. But that's not what I'm talking about here. The United States helped form the Union out of Cuba, Jamaica, and Hispaniola, so naming it Cuba makes no sense at all. If it is a multi-party democracy, we can be sure that NO ONE from those islands would consent to naming their nation Cuba, but yet in his "election" results over 60 percent of the population agreed.

Besides that, randomly asking for the US to withdraw troops, failing to realize that as a member of ADTO their security is guaranteed by the United States, makes no sense at all. And the mixing of IC and OOC in diplomacy isn't great either. Threatening to shoot someone with a flare gun in official diplomatic channels will obviously provoke a serious response.
I concur. Also mixing OOC and IC makes it:
a) very personal
b) ruins the game....

RE: Alliances

We, as the other member of both alliances, believe they should retain independance, but work in co-operation. All the Commonwealth nations once were under the reigns of the British, and we continue to acknowledge that although we no longer are under their fascism. However, we do support the merger into an umbrella, where they are the same yet somewhat independant. However, we would not oppose the merger of the two alliances.

I'd have to agree, combining OOC and IC are a bad idea, i've had people who have been calling for my head on a stick, yet i still respect them because they still realise its a game

I had some time to think it over ( i went to work) and i have come to the conclusion that i will stay in the alliance. However I still don't want your military in my land. I hope we can come to a conclusion on this issue. I would still like diplomatic ties with USA and other members of our alliance. However it is a insult to have a big force in Cuba. If you would like to propose a solution to this problem that is a fair compromise I may be incline to accept.

ooc i would say more however i must go to work we are kinda short staff so they have me working every day.

Yes, we are willing to propose a fair compromise. The compromise is that you will hold one more referendum, on the subject of the name change from the Union of Caribbean Islands to Cuba, and requiring American troops to leave the nation, with American and Brazilian observers present to ensure that the election is not rigged.

If your people truly wish for American troops to withdraw, they will do so, on the condition that you remain in ADTO. We believe that this is a compromise that all sides can accept.

Why is that anytime you judge someone else to be attempting to create a war its the crime of the century, but you are so blind you do not see your own transgressions? The Balknas have been under your rule long enough- these are free, independent countries held under your thumb and forced to bow before you. The only reasons- they have admitted this theirselves- that they are "part" of your alliance is because of the substantial amount of troops you have based within their borders.

You are always critizing us for "attempting to raise conflicts." Well, now is the time for all these conflicts to be put to rest. Let us sign a mutual agreement to respect- fully- the independence of these nations and both agree to refrain from placing ourselves in their affairs. Bring your troops home and let peace truly reign in Europe again.

You talk of Germany oppressing the people of the Blakans but what about you and the Greeks? The North Africans? Albania? These people deserve just as much freedom as the nations of the Balkans in fact the nations of the Balkans have more freedom as they are annexed by Germany. We find your hyprocrisy insulting to the Berlin Pact and ask that you remain out of the affairs of our fellow members.

We hold great potential, perticularly in the oil we hold around the persian gulf. Let us not compete for markets, but unite in order to secure the world's market in it's entirety. As such I suggest we form the Oil Exporting Gulf Alliance (OEGA) in order to set prices and exute stronger influence in the world.

In addition I wish to propose a non-aggression pact, and foundation purely economic, non-military trade zone in the Persian gulf.

I await your response.

Since when were we talking to you? Last time I checked the message was intended for the ruler of Germany, not their northern lackeys. I personally find the fact you didn't even take the time to read our messages "insulting" for you there are major diffrences in what we are discussing.

First, the Germans (and you too to a certain point) like to parade around, claiming to "uphold" the protection of the Balkan nations while all-in-all they have already expressed interest in joining an Italian-sponsered alliance if it wasn't for the German troops ready to overthrow them at any moment. Secondly, these nations are arealy facaded as "independent" so I see no purpose in no allowing them to be. Third, a new plan will be unvieled shockingly soon that will be in the intrestes of all our people, not that we see any reason in defending ourselves form your worthless attacks. These nations, confirmed by your lords, are independent- why not stop the farade and end the mounting conflict?

Yet you choose to stick your nose where it does not belong in a pathetic attempt to insult us that only results in worse relations for our two factions. When the time comes that we feel it worthy to talk to Finland (if there is actually ever a time that we are that desprete), then you'll know. But for now go bow down before your masters and keep your ears tuned only to what is said to you- remember, speak only when spoken too.

Greetings. We can see that you are in need of allies- a people with no friends is a people with plenty of enemies. But that can change if you wish- join with our pact and you can reap what is given to all of us- life, liberty, and a common goal.

OOC: I offered once before but since I don't think you was playing at the time and I'm not to positive on the answer, I'll offer again.

The Deadline has long since past, I am accepting no more orders from this point on.

We feel that it is part of our buisiness to help defend our fellow members of the Berlin Pact and back them up.

However since you have insulted Finland to a point we feel any further negiotations with you is pointless and we will be withdrawing our diplomats.

The Indian Republic sees no problem with merging the two alliances. It would bring more stability to both and coordination
