The Americas
Venezuela – US partition of Colombia
The Republic of Colombia for too long had been in a state of anarchy ruled by drug barons and remnants of the previous national army. The first to notice this and see an opportunity was the Socialist Republic in Venezuela led by President Romulo as a way for Venezuela to gain greater status in Latin America. He began to ready his forces.
By March the situation in Colombia has disintegrated as rival militas began warring with each other and the main cities of Colombia became battlegrounds. The US Congress and Senate began moves to call for an intervention, when Romulo panicked. He could lose out, so he acted.
Within 5 days the hastily mobilized Venezuelan Army crossed the border. Colombian military units remaining largely in control of the Panama border region and the capital were unable to do anything as each drug lord’s milita was wiped out and territory fell to Venezuelan military soliders at an alarming rate.
The US on the ninth day of the invasion passed a law allowing the US Army to intervene in the current situation. US Army units landed on the coastline and invaded direct from US Panama. The Colombian military was wiped out.
By August the capital was under the control of Venezuela and the state of Colombia had ceased to exist. What remains of resistance now are just prominent drug lords that have the money to starve off defeat.

Trouble in the Carrabean Union
The troubles in Carrabean Union began when Carrabean President President Roberto Agramonte, himself a Cuban and leader of the dominant Democratic Nationalist Party of the Carrabean renamed the Union, Cuba, without consultation with the other islands in the Union as to their opinion.
Agramonte the proceeded to demand that US troops leave the Carrabean Union immediately and even threatned to attack US bases in the Union (which he still insited on calling Cuba) if they did not leave. US President Earl Warren stood firm in this matter and refused to vacate the bases referring to the ADTO treaty. He then browbeated the antagonistic Agramonte into a referendum on two matters; If US troops were allowed to stay in the Carrabean Union and if the name should be changed to Cuba.
Overwhelmingly the US troops were asked to cut their forces to ¼ of what they are now, but at the same time the country’s name is to remain the Carrabean Union and not Cuba. Futhermore opposition parties have called for a new election as Agramonte has lost all credibility with the people.

The Paraguayan War
After seeing the ease at which the majority Colombia was annexed by Venezuela, Brazil decided to end what they termed ‘the reign of terror in Paraguay’ by the Paraguayan President Strossener. The Brazilian parliament voted overwhelmingly for war against the Paraguay government and Brazilian President Quandros got what he wished for as Brazilian troops poured over the border.
The small insular Republic of Paraguay was overwhelmed and Strossener traveled to Argentina and then onto Berlin to go into exile. He calls for the return of what he terms the rightful government of Paraguay under his Nationalist Party and Radio Berlin now gives him a voice on which to be heard. Meanwhile back in Paraguay the people begin to pick up the pieces full of resentment but for whom it is different with ever person.

Hurricane devastates British Bahamas
Late in July Hurricane Mary hit the British Bahamas devastating the British Naval outpost and Carrabean colonies. Some of the ships stationed here were lost and the major airfield was heavily damaged. About 1000 Bahamian citizens were also killed. This was yet just one blow for a heavily bruised British Empire this turn.

Chilean Earthquake
Great Chilean Earthquake: Chile's subduction fault ruptures from Talcahuano to Taitao Peninsula, loosing a tsunami and one of the greatest earthquakes on record. Seismographs in Valdivia crashed. The Chiliean President is feared dead and the state has crashed in to utter anarchy. Politicans in Brazil, Argentina and Peru all clamour for their governments to do something, and as is the usual practice in South America, help themselves at the same time.

Swedish War
Back in January during the Swedish elections claims of rigging by the fascists were rife and culiminated into outright hostility when the Swedish Fascist party was declared the winner. The movement to overthow what most people thought of as the ‘false govermment’ began in March after the fascist party began to tighten its grip. Their building of homeless shelters pacified noone, and soon the Electoral Commissioner had declared that the election had been rigged. The parties making up the opposition in the parliament against the fascists, walked out and along with the King they were forced into exile by the fascist’s officals, so they traveled to Washington DC.
The Head of the Swedish Army then broke ranks and declared his support for the true government of Sweden and not the ‘fascist menace that infiltrates our proud society!’ He began a counter-coup and by May the Swedish fascist leadership had been captured and lynched by a baying mob of angry civilians. Fascism was dead in Sweden.
Honouring the Swedish fascist entry into the Berlin pact the German army landed the day the Swedish fascist leadership were captured, far too late to help them. What came as a mission to help became a mission of invasion. Finland lessended the plight the Germans found themselves in as Sweden directed its full might to containing the Germans, the Swedish military leader making a late hour devils pact with Finland seeing his situation untenable.
Finland captured much of Sweden although the economic affluent coastal regions fell to Germany. Rebellion seethes throughout Sweden and it is likely that the Swedish democratic government which is now in exile could resurrect the state if possible. The Swedish Army commander has now joined his government in exile along with about a division of his surviving troops. Sweden however is a broken nation and lies under the boots of Finland and Germany combined.

The Intifada and rise of the Islamic Empire
The Mufti Massauri al-Dakka in early 1960 was a influential cleric in German occupied Syria. In Damascus the ancient capital of the Islamic Caliphs of old was no German soldiers, vile occupiers of ancient times. When the Germans came and took his daughter away for a crime of sedition which she did not commit. Actions was needed.
First he roused the faithful and the clerics that were loyal to him. Fighters who had been waiting for the decleration of jihad against the German oppressors came out of hiding. The few tanks and plans that were secreted away in the desert, the Muslim’s friend came out of hiding too.
By March the Suez Canal had been cut as his counter-part in Egypt called for the great revolution. Independence for the Islamic Empire, Massauri quickly allied with Musod from Egypt. This put the Germans on the backfoot as their military had been pushed out of the Middle East and forced to retreat to Slovakia. It was even more disastrous for the British who were unable to provide the same level of defense for the Indian Ocean as the Suez Canal was cut. Supply lines were overstreched and many islands had to be left undefended.
Such wide ranging complications reverberated around the globe from the Intifada. In September after the Indian Army and Navy had started exploiting British weakness, The Iraqi area revolted against the Germans, and the last German soldiers were driven from the region. It remains to be seen if the Germans can retake what they have lost but given current tensions with Italy it seems unlikely.
The Islamic Empire was declared in Damascus by November. And Turkey recognized it straight away and the Islamic diplomats are traveling to Italy as we speak.

Chechen Rebellion
The Chechen Muslim minority in the Caucsus centred primarily around Grozny saw the success the Infifada had in creating the Islamic Empire out of the German possession in the Middle East and sought to remove the shackles of their Nazi masters themselves, that they began a rebellion in December. So far minor damage has been done however the rebellion will need some military might to put it down.

The Second Ingrun
This is the message the was given to the British Broadcasting Commission after the detonation of 5 VX warheads in 5 German cities. Berlin, Nuremburg, Hamburg, Dresden and Danzig were all hit. Estimated casualties is up to 8000 people, it remains to be seen if the German government has a response to this new deadly threat and the German Ministry of Propganda is screeching about the Jewish plot against Germany and the attricties of 3rd of March or as the Germans are calling it, 3/3, and the German Fuhrer has declared war on Terrorism. Recruits flock to the banner!

French tensions rise as King is placed upon throne.
In February the French fascist party elected to return France to a absolute monarchy and nominated Henri VI a Bourbon with direct links to the ancient royal family of France. A section of the populace was pleased with this however a section was not. What was even more worrisome was that the fascist party itself was split on the issue in a deeply polorising way. The Monarchy is there but not loved by many. If it is to cement itself it will need to win France glory or try and recapture some past wealth that is now denied to France.

It started with the execution of a well known Chinese celebrity Li Mao in Shanghai, the administrative centre for the Imperial Military Sector for treason. Communists attack Nationalists
The Chinese Communists attacked the Nationalists led by aging Chiang Kai-Shek in a war that had been encouraged by several other parties. Soon the Communists and Nationalists were in a wild melee with units advancing in each way and condition and the total thing had become a mess. The two evenly matched Chinese Republics mercislessly slaughtered each other.
Rebellion began to seethe inside the Republics as the United Front was shattered. Local Warlords took over and China has futher fragmented in the face of renewed war.

Indian ascendancy over the Indian Ocean
After the Suez Canal was closed due to the actions of the Islamic Liberation Front and the Intifada, India seized its chance declaring the continued occupation of Indian lands in the Indian Ocean (it was named the Indian Ocean for a reason!) illegal under the Indian Seperation Act of 1944. India then proceeded to take advantage of British weakness in the area due to lack of supplies. The parts of the British navy with the fuel enough to leave the Indian Ocean islands took what it could with them and traveled to Africa in front of the Indian takeover. Only on Ceylon did they attempt to make a stand, and when the situation got down to less then one cartridge per soldier left the British commander was forced to surrender.
Inside six months the Indian sponsored Republics of Tamalia and Sinhala were created under Indian protection. Within a week New Zealand nominated for their entry into the Commonwealth and was the first nation other than India to recognize their status as independent republics.
The remainder of the Indian Ocean islands were captured by India with minimal loss. The British Navy defeated in the region and without the Suez Canal link being able to be restored easily after the creation of the Islamic Empire has docked in British East Africa one of the last remaining colonial holdouts of this once proud Empire. Its losses however were heavy with half the British navy in the Indian Ocean captured by the Indian military who have no such problems with supplies.
It remains to be seen if Prime Minister Moseley will pursue a war over this.

Iranian-Soviet War
Chairman Molotov of the Soviet Federation ordered early in 1960 that the time to recover land lost to Iran during the defeat in the Great Humiliation must be recovered. By February the wily negotiator had managed to seal an airtight treaty with the Empire of Japan succeeding in getting their blessing for the adventure about to follow.
Soviet Forces invaded northern Iran in April of that year and captured several border towns. Japan praised the actions of the Soviet Federation on the world stage. However the Iranian people were stoic in their defense and the local populace were not endeared towards Soviet forces when multiple acts of repression occurred after Soviet ‘liberation’
The Iranian government declared the mobilization of the mujahadeen and a dangerous and lively insurgency in areas surrendered to the Soviet forces is now firmly established with daily attacks slowing Soviet supply lines and causing consisestent Soviet casualties.

The Great Chinese Famine
With the constant warfare the argricultural areas of the Chinese population had begun to fail. In Japanese held lands what little rice was produced was sent to Japan, the Chinese were left to starve. And starve they did. This lead to contstant discontent and some rebellions.
When the Communists invaded the Nationalists the situation got worse. Famine spread further and soon something close to 350 million people were on the point of starvation. Confidence in all nations affected plummets as fears of complete anarchy ensure if the situation is left to get out of hand.
