Shift Enter Fail

I'm looking for an alternative way to force end turns.

Shift Enter does not work for me - it's as if I've pressed nothing.

I've noticed that Alt-Enter also fails inside Excel if CivV is active. This would normally insert a line break inside a cell. If I close CivV then Alt-Enter becomes active in Excel.

Are the hot keys customizable? If so I'd be grateful for some help on where to look for the relevant file.

There is a popular mod for ending your turn, the "Simple Spacebar Mod." You can find it in the in-game mod hub. It should fix your problem.

Since I have never seen this 'mod hub' in the game, I enabled Steam and looked all over the in-game Steam area (Shift-Tab). I couldn't see it there either. I did try searching for 'mod hub' but it returned 131 posts and none I looked at explained how to get there.

The good news is that during the hour I spent trying to find 'mod hub', I did stumble on cause of the problem and its solution. I have an ergonomic Goldtouch keyboard. For some reason Civilization V causes the program to ignore modifier keys while it is running unless 'Caps Lock' is on. It doesn't solve the allied problem with Excel and I haven't tested it with a regular keyboard.

In case you still want to try the spacebar mod mentioned previously ainwood wrote a tutorial on using the mod hub which is pinned in the C&C forum.

Thanks. That is a useful tutorial. When I searched for 'Mod' in the manual, it's all there on p194. It was the search for 'Mod Hub' that produced zilch for me.
