Shooting at L.A.X El-Al Desk

The spree style shootings don't happen everyday. Otherwise they wouldn't make the news. But murders are frequent in all major cities.

Oh, yes. I was just wondering what you meant.

There is a difference between acting like a headless chicken, and examining the possible permutations of the occurence. As one said previously, the initial thought was to terrorism, given the 'co-incidences', but that was qualified by saying that full judgement would be withheld until more information came to hand.
Now that the information has come to hand, it looks more like a lone wolf.

It is true that the purpose of terrorism is to terrorize, and that the echo of past events is with us still.

Simon- my comments were not specifically directed at you, or this thread.

My saying that the initial activity on this thread was grasping for the "terrorism" label was wrong. I shouldn't have said that.

In Canada there have been a few "death by cop" suicides in the last decade, the latest one I remember was a man taunting and advancing on a pair of police while waving a knife, on a busy street. I think that's different than amok (killing spree). To my knowledge, amok only appears regularly in the cultures of Indonesia and America. Every culture has it's acceptible ways of going crazy, weird as this may sound. Maybe "human bomb" is becoming one of the standard manifestations of insanity amongst some people?

America is a very violent place. "Going Postal" is a relatively recent slang term derived from disgruntled employees of the US Post Office having moving target practice at their former/current workplace. Such events normally do make the news. Similar events have happened in court houses, jobs, restraunts, schools, etc. They don't plan to get out alive.

Maybe in Lima or La Paz.

Can you name the last mall shooting? Supermarket shooting? State capitol shooting? Respectively, I think we have overall little violence when it comes to these goofballs that just flip out.

I'd thought that Americans usually shot each other when somebody was flipping out. Shooting your fellow citizen full of holes is not flipping out by your definition?
