well, if they do become independent, then their official language should be the spanish

one advantage to seceding would be that we wouldn't have to take the international political fallout for Operation Pimp Iraq. however, i love my country to much to secede.

what is this continual obsession with the breakup of the united states?

boredom. :) we did try to become our own country when we were part of Mexico, but our 'Army' consited of 34 people.

so were we, my state wanted to be independent and become a country be we failed :(

The other states would never let California go. They need the tax-income.

Why do California (?) want to become seperate from the US? I dislike the thought of the US breaking up. I like the most powerful nation in the world being America (i'm British). What propaganda this would be for terrorists and regimes like Cuba.

And they can make Ahnold their king!

Seriously, there is no reason to. Why would they want to cede form the US?

California is basically the 'forbidden palace' of the USA. Sure they are different then other parts of the country, but that's true for all...that's why we call em - New England, the South (SE), Texas, Midwest, Cali...we are all majorly different then other parts of the country, but we are able to agree with the fact that we are all more better off together, then apart. It sets a precedence throughout the world...

C'mon, like the countries in Europe vary that much in size from the average state in the USA? But they are COUNTRIES!! - not states. If you ask me, they should all unite into one commonwealth. I'm straying now from the topic...

I want all the states to become independent, so we, the Swedes!, can take control over your resourceful continent and rule it by the might of our super army!! Mohahahah!!! Divide and conquer!!

(Damn, I've watched too many movies...)
The state of Texas probably has bigger guns than the entire Swedish army.

California does not want to become independant. there is no such movement, but one of my friends used to want California to becomeit's own country. i did this poll to see if anyone shared his former views.

agreed, except that California isn't the 'forbidden place' in the USA. then again, a lot of Easterners have a supereority complex over us Westerners.

Gotta remeber that California and Texas were seperate countries for a short while before they even came in to the Union. I think reason that alot of people from other states look at Cali and think, what the heck is wrong over there, might have something to do with the 40 candidates for governer right now :p

That's okay, Southerners have pride in not being Northerners and vice versa. The one thing we all have in common is that we're all thankful we don't live in Delaware.

Californa should seccede and Southerns are racist tratories for seccison.

You can't have your cake and eat it to.

I think there is only one good solution for Kalifornia. Turn it into a National Park and give everybody 24 hours notice to clear out.

And California would not be rebelling if it seceded? Good luck if you do as you will no longer have the Federal government protecting you when we Texans sell you another rolling blackout.

I never heard until now that California want to be separate state, tho I know that Texas had that kind of attention.

Well, to answer Sultan of Swiz, 'Couse I'm comin' from the country that reacently had a big civilwar about that issue it's not recomended alltho it can be done also peacfuly it's usally not very good idea by my opinion.

Anyway it will not happened, at least not in this century (I think), so don't worry, be happy :) about it.
