And exactly what have curt and perf trained posters to do? Other then to avoid topics on religion that is. ;)
I've trained posters here to shake hands, roll over, and play dead.

The "old heads" here remember the "Peanut Gallery", a no-PC spam forum. It was horrendous, and was rightfully removed.

Which is one of the interesting dilemmas for mods. ;) What is the dividing line between an interesting "aside", and plain spam? We have to make judgement calls on these every day.
And you all do a pretty damn good job of keeping things balanced. :hatsoff:

Spam is going to slowly kill CFC.
Wait... Frequent posts slow down the death of CFC? Does that mean that infrequent posts will kill it faster?

Makes sense to me.

I said Spam.
The reasoning goes like this: People will stop visiting the forums because there's only boring pointless stuff to read.
Only the spammers will remain and then after they get tired of spamming, they will leave too and there will be no one left to write meaningful stuff.

Spam is like a malignat tumor inside the forum and the MOderators are the immunologic system fighting it. ;)

Incorrect anology, Zhukov. The elite-spam brigade of high PC posters serve a vital role of keeping the immune system primed and ready for action without causing any significant damage. We're the vaccines against more nefarious forces.

As if your anology is any better.:p

You are analogy doesn't make any sense.

Worse you've now entitled youself as :" elite-spam brigade of high PC posters"

High PC turns a poster into "elite", yeah ... sure.

Spam is a cancer and posters with high PC are certainly not an "elite brigade".
You should joing the Army, if you want so badly to be a part of an "elite brigade, not invent one here. ;)

Actually it does, most people here comprehended it.

What? It does!

Nah, there's two kinds of spam. The kind of spam perpetrated by newbies, and the high quality spam perpetrated by the "forum elite". The later builds community and keeps the mods on thier toes!

Sorry if you don't recognize the tacit forum elitism.

NOBODY recognizes this forum elitism, users don't care about it. Your mind created this illusion. And you believe it because you it serves you to think that you are "Elite" and therefore special.

Your necessity and desire to be considered "Elite" is probably echoing a inferiority complex buried deep inside your mind. ;)

Why don't you turn this into a poll?
Question of the poll.

"Do you think posters with high PC are the Forum Elite?"

Sadly, Perf is right. I know people will disagree, but remember that this is a very mature forum. Here we are old enough to know that PC is not that big a deal. But look at other forums...

It's not that the elite are known soley for there postcounts however it is a factor that has been recognized by many members

Perfection, do you consider yourself forum elite?

Eventhought I still think that this concept of "forum elite" is ludicrous and only recognized by those that consider themselves part of this elite or close to becoming part of this group, I am curious about who decided the prerequisites in order for a user to become forum elite, and what these prerequisites are.

I am asking this because I doubt that anybody has a well defined idea of what is needed to become forum elite, proving that because the concept is not well defined it DOESN'T exist.

And because it doesn't exist nobody cares or recognizes its existance.

P.S. Man, I am good

Like The Person?

Being forum elite is a combination of things. Post count being one of them. People like FredLC and Birdjaguar can transend it because they are very intelligent. Higher postcount means you et more face time means your chances of being forum elite improve dramatically.

That's faulty logic. Because the concept is nebulous doesn't mean its inapplicable.

The Person just did!
