Siddhartha of India: The Civ 4 Buddhist challenge

welcome all to the next update, the next one will be when i wake up tomorrow.

so without further ado, its time UPDATE!

"Join the settlers today!" yelled the news boy.
In recent years, wonder building had gone down, and a settler party was being put together, orders of king Siddhartha.
Many wondered the need to expand, of course these weren't the brave souls that joined.
It's group would one day found the province of Bombay
attachment.php

The missionary's name was Gandhi II, he was known for writing the First atlas of Pindoesia. He was one of the enlightened ones, and unlike his namesake, it was easier for him to know his teaching were being heard, he would return to the order once his job was down, and that was all.
attachment.php

Later a group of elephants were established, they were to guard Delhi, though one day elephants would help gain territory.
attachment.php

Siddhartha stared at the province.
It was the independent tribe of Bantu, united under one banner, and it was wanted by the king.
"No" he thought to himself"greed is a vice i must escape from"
attachment.php

Siddhartha looked at and admired the large library that was just created.
In each wing there was a group of scholars, working and making knowledge for the state.
The main hall was a site for normal patrons, who would read writings here for long to come.
Siddhartha noticed the original copy of the Baghvad Gita, and stared in awe at the original monks of Lumbini's elegant hand writing, it WAS the origin of Buddhist Scriptium
attachment.php

The year was 1 a.d. when siddhartha had a dream that a new preacher, by the name of jesus was born somewhere, he ignored it for now, but it would oneday be wondered who this prophet was

anyhoo, lets begin!

the warrior monk guards that watched over Lumbini, stared at the objects in their hand, they were called "Bronze Spears" by King Siddhartha Asokasson. "These weapons" said king Siddhartha " have been granted to you and paid for by the state in case of a Persian attack, use them well" King Siddhartha then left, with dumbstruck warriors behind him.
attachment.php

'22 individual houses and small shops, 2 Buddhist houses of worship, (one)the monument of king Asoka, 3 sacred spiritual sites. and 2 libraries, one much greater than the other" read the clay tablet in The King's hands. "Much has this city progressed since father passed" thought king Siddhartha. King Siddhartha let one tear fall down his cheek, and then he had finally finished mourning his father. The next day he sat out on a walk to use his standard hour of free time in which he loved to read at the great library, among his favorite stories there were the celestial bureaucracy and the two fables known as Dawn of the Punic sea and the great Seljuk empire, and then there was this very old story known as Celtic fury which he quite enjoyed. When he arrived at the gates of the library, he ran into a beautiful woman, who had recently become the new assistant to the librarian, little did he know she would one day be his immortal wife.
attachment.php

Dear king Siddhartha,
It is I, Aditi your artist
Don't forget about me Aditi
Oh and there's Abhay, perhaps the only female missionary in the world
Anyways, back to the point, the settlers you sent with us have just built their town, I have created a simple work of art, and Abhay has taught them Buddhism.
I only wish to ask if we can stay with these people until we die.
Yours truly, Aditi
Ahem
Oh and there's Abhay, writing on my clay again.
Yours truly, Abhay
WILL YOU STOP WRITING ON MY CLAY ABHAY!
little did Aditi know his simple work would astound people for millennium to come

"I'M A GENIUS" thought Siddhartha while he doodled away late at night.
The next day he presented his Drawing to the council.
"I call it the Sistine chapel" Siddhartha said
"Looks like a good idea" said the head elder "But is it named after Sistine, the new assistant in the great library?
Siddhartha hurried away, blushing.
attachment.php

"NO NO NO!" screamed Siddhartha when he got the news.
"I'm sorry my lord", said the messenger of the elephants of war.
"Those Persians will one day pay, i'll make sure of it!" said Siddhartha
attachment.php

"You may go" said Siddhartha to the players who had just done a play for him.
Siddhartha had loved what he had seen, it was beautiful it was-
"DRAMA" said his science adviser "that was the new invention you just saw"
attachment.php

"Sir i have great news!" yelled the newly hired military adviser, Anish "Bantu is Buddhist!"
"This IS excellent news" said King Siddhartha "You may go now"
attachment.php

Siddhartha stared at the small military of elephants he had gathered.
It haunted him the fact that he knew war was on the horizon, but the enlightened ones were egging him on.
It seemed like each new generation was lead farther and farther away from with which the order was founded on.
attachment.php

Siddhartha gave a glorious clear "I do!"
"It's fitting in a way" thought Siddhartha "I'm marrying Sistine in the chapel dedicated to her on its very completion day"
attachment.php

"I can't believe it" thought Gandhi III "I have changed these buddhist to the true religion..."
Gandhi III was burned alive by the (now not so)enlightened ones the next day.

this is part 2 of the super long update... and it will be quite short

"once again" thought Aparajita (head of the (now not so)enlightened ones) "another taoist must be burned alive, when will they learn"
attachment.php

Mao if you would only listen-
"China will not listen to your bourgoise lies!"
"Fine, we wanted to see if we can help you in your war with persia but, apparently not" said Siddhartha
Siddhartha then hurried out chased by guards
attachment.php

"Phase one" read the clay "Declare war"
He was scared out of his mind, but he knew he had to.
"Hello" he said to the guards at the gate "may i speak to Lord cyrus, i am a messenger from india."
"Alright you Buddhist scum, you can enter!" the guards taunted
hello um mr.cyrus, your head would look good on the end of a pole, india declares war...
the messenger was found in a dumpster in pasagarde.

"Phase 2," read the clay "Get in position
"Alright Men!" said general Siddhartha Siddharthasson, son of king Siddhartha"I want you to march to the very gates of pasagarde, ARE YOU READY!?"
"Aye Aye Captain" said the men on elephants
And they began their march through 100 miles in Persian territory.

"Phase 3," read the clay "Charge"
Man i was nervous as heck, but i guess everyone in the camp was.
I thought my heart hit my stomach when the general said "charge"
Man it was chaos in there, Everyone had swords, and they kept trying to stab the elephants legs.
The charge was essentially many groups of 5000 men on elephants, i was in the western group, not the northern one.
I even saw a flaming clay pot hit my buddy's elephant, and the pain that passed through him as he fell of and the animal fell on top of him.
I knew he was gone when i heard the loud snap
Our spears and bows took some down, but they took some of our men down too.
But, i thought of an idea, corner them, and maybe we could win.
as we surrounded them at a wall, i threw my javelin, thrust my spear downward and...

in case anyone can't guess, A.B. stands for after buddha, just so you know when you read the atlas 2 post above

um, rule change, you can draft up to 10 times now instead of not at all, no reason for the change :mischief:

alright, despite lack of comments i know people ARE reading this so, i have begun working on an update, should be down within the next 30 min. to an hour, depending how much i write

welcome one and all, we are currently on the dawn of a new era in Buddhist history, The First Dark Dynasty, in which the taste of war first touches the tongue of India, so, let's get started

"...as i stabbed my spear i realized i had led my men to their doom, as the swords men killed elephant after elephant... I jumped of the creature and bailed, and that was that..."

King Siddhartha watched from a hill, as the next group of elephants charged a Persian phalanx, hopefully the the spirit of Asoka would bless them.
attachment.php

"I can't believe it!" screamed king Siddhartha "How did they lose?!?"
"They phalanx tricked them, it can't be helped" said the military advisor

"Well we might as well continue the attack, charge the archers!" said King Siddhartha
attachment.php

"We won?" questioned king siddhartha
"Yes my lord"
"Well, good, carry on :D:D:D:D:D!"

"A group of war elephants, 2500 stong, charged a group of 10000 immortals, with the words FOR KING SIDDHARTHA on their lips, the battle was a flawless victory, with only 3 having minor wounds"- Quote from The epic of Bantu, published 4520 A.B.
attachment.php

King Siddhartha came to greet his men
"Men" he said "You will forever be known as the conquerors of Bantu!"
"May this day live in non-infamy!"
The quote above is the most famous of all the quotes from India, due to its uniqueness :mischief:
attachment.php

"Are you sure?"
"yes sir"
"there is a small Persian raiding party near Delhi?"
"Yes sir"
"You may go now"
"yes sir"
King Siddhartha was very worried about what would become of Delhi, only time would tell...
attachment.php

"The elephants stamped the city, it was the second time i was in charge of an attack, and holy Asoka it was chaotic! I wouldn't make the same mistake of last time though, i formulated to attack in open field, and use the armor of the elephants and the bows to our advantage, what joy i felt as we obtained victory but it was only one of many battles, and i could still die..."- here ends chapter 2 of the battle of Pasagarde- Abhay the Anuj
attachment.php

well how was that? comment below to tell me?

"Here's the AAR" said the military adviser (Siddhartha forgot his name um :mischief:) "The elephants charged down the hill, and the horse archers got... pwned like the lil pwnys they are?"
Those my dear advisor" said Siddhartha "are the newest military terms, and teh shall be used forever!"
attachment.php

King Siddhartha, who was still frustrated he was not enlightened, sat around one day going "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF..."
then his adviser walked in while siddhartha was formulating more of the word "FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
"MY LORD" the adviser said "we has teh Angkor wat"
"The Angkor What?"
The Angkor WAT
"oh, carry on"
attachment.php

"Um, sir?"
"it's DIVINE sir you silly military adviser :p"

*Military adviser from Civ III runs in*
SMPort1425_ma.jpg

My lord, our glorious armies are VICTORIOUS
We have captured Pasargadae and "liberated" 1 gold
I am also honored to report that we now control the Temple of Artemis

"Hmm"King Siddhartha Said "your better than my other military adviser, NON Civ 3 ADVISER! UR FIRED"
attachment.php

"Hey injured spear men, kill dat cat" said king sddhartha
"yes divine sir" the spear dudes said
attachment.php

"DARIUS! i come with a peace offer for 10 turns"
"alright i'll give you gold for and moar gold per turn for peace"
"ALRIGHT BYE BYE SUCKER!" (KING SIDDHARTHAS CAPS LOCK KEY IS STUCK O NOS)
attachment.php

Moai Spammer's note: i fixed my caps lock key

king Siddhartha stared in... DISGUST AT HIS NOW SMALL ARMY!
according to his military adviser "compared to these guys our military is weak!"
attachment.php

a sad thing happened to the kingdom, during the capture (and 1 turn holding) of delhi be persia, the temple that housed the remains of Gandhi I were destroyed
across the empire, he traveled giving speeches, some, sad, some cold, and some even vengeful
"Persia will pay" siddhartha said in one speech, "we will one day release lightning, stong and fast upon them, and they will become a small weak nation, and we will puppet them for our own gain!"
attachment.php

"The army is growing" thought Siddhartha
According to the military adviser "compared to these guys we have an average military"
attachment.php

when siddhartha came to pasargadae to give a speech, the people were so moved, some even became buddhist, it was a glorious day for the empire!
attachment.php

Siddhartha was ready, he had men, he had strategy, and he had an adviser who said
"compared to these guys, we have a strong military"
all he needed was the treaty to expire next turn...
attachment.php

now a question: how will the attack go:
A)Persia kicks my butt
B)I kick persia's butt
C)I take cities but take heavy casualties, and peace is made, and stays
D)I gain ground but take casualties, make temporary peace, then accept china's plea for assistance in a war they started with persia
