There should be also Serf uprising and then Tensions between Castes to make other labor civic useless

Personally i think a slave revolt every now and then adds some flavor to the game. and it gives you an apportunity to roleplay a little.

heck spartacus rebelled and raized an army of thousends. Wouldnt that be annoying: slave revolt in babylon: 5 axemen spawn right next to the city, defence sinds its a core city: 1 warrior.

I love this event. If it werent for this event, slavery would be way to powerful. Also, it is one of the only in-game reminders to the player that certain actions have ethically relevant repercussions of a simultaneously practical nature.

dude, we're talking about axemen here. they're trained elite units. you can't force them to slavery easily, and most of those slaves in that roman city were women, children, infants, farmers, etc.

Personally i blame Spartacus for the slave revolt. Shame he started something he could never finish.

Overstatement of the century... I'll stay in Slavery most of the game (if not all)... slave results are few and far between in a well groomed empire... I rarely get them (though I certainly do get them, it's not often enough to make me think for two seconds I need to ditch the slavery civic). The upside of whipping your slaves to rush products (if anything) almost makes the other civics useless.

Every man who says he is Spartacus gets whipped to death in my empire. I'll stand for none of that tom-foolery!

I despise slavery....but its oh so necessary to get them Courthouses in quickly in the early game and prefer running slavery compared to Cast System...still, hate slaving my ppl to death

You must be mistreating your slaves more then me... spare the whip and show your slaves a kind hand every now and then. You probably are whipping them TOO MUCH (or maybe you just need to use a more charismatic leader).

Proper use of slavery as a civic is an aid, not a crutch. If you're getting that many slave revolts, you're doing something wrong... I've never come even close to getting more then one or two revolts a century (if I'm unlucky).

Come back to me after you treat your slaves more kindly.

Staying in slavery and how-much you whip are two totally different things. You can "stay in slavery" and never whip at all... or you can stay in slavery and whip every turn in every city for hundreds of years.

I think ticked-off citizens might have an impact on the event. You can use slavery and not have a lot of ticked-off citizens just by being careful how-often/when you whip.

Just a theory, but it would make sense... you can have two otherwise identical empires both in slavery and have completely different happiness levels depending on how much each of them whip their people.

I don't think whipping and revolt chance has a relation. but somebody has to see the code.

Wolfshanze which speed you play ? I play marathon, I wonder if the revolt probability goes higher with the slower game speeds.
