Out of the mists comes a powerful man wearing brilliant shining armour which dazzled all who saw it, his name was SolarKnight and he was the one chosen to lead the people of orange.

He spoke to his companion who was also in similar armour and asked, Why do we have units in the lands of another civilisation, we are in no position for war, his friend turned to him and said:

"be patient with your people, they are young and will need much training before they develop the patience and care of a great ruler. "

So SolarKnight turned and said, "Very Well, let us show these people the path of the light, so that they make an example of the ones who call themselves The French when the time comes "

He then told his friend of his great plan which would ultimately lead his people to greatness, and here is what happened next:

2350 BC: SolarKnight instantly ordered the warrior in French territory to leave and said:

" Fear not my warrior, their time will come. ", instead the warriors began to explore the surrounding lands looking for any resources that they may use to bring about the end of the french.

2310 BC: The exploration continued, while SolarKnight looked at the plans his predacessor had laid out, looking for suitable places to settle.
SolarKnight met with their scientists and said, excellent work, but why do you not increase your work rate (science rate) if you set your work to 80% we can get the wheel in 5 turns less, the scientists reluctantly agreed, their new ruler was strict but he was fair.

2270 BC: The exploration continued and then it was decided, when their settler was ready, they were to found on the red mark near the two cows to the SE of the capital.

2230 BC: The settler was ready and began his march to the city site, our curragh spots a red border, " I suspect that will be the Byzantines, My Lord. " said SolarKnight's friend and advisor. " Yes. " said SolarKnight, " We shall have to be watchful of them, thier Dromons are said to be the scourge of the waters in the ancient times."

2190 BC: As the curragh approaches, it seems it is not the Byzantines, it is the English. " Be careful around them, they may not have the best trained armies. But that is no excuse for being lazy around them. They are just as capable of causing us trouble as any other nation " said SolarKnight authoratively.

2150 BC: The settler nears his destination, and prepares to build the new colony.

2110 BC: A great city is founded near the great cattle plains, it is named SolarNexus in honour of the leader. Training of a spearman brigade is commenced instantly to facilitate defence.

2070 BC: A small tribe is contacted in the area, and when told that the messenger followed the command of the great leader SolarKnight, the villagers bowed down and showered them with 25 gold pieces.

2030 BC: SpearMan completed in Silveropolis, settler ordered, the expansion was to continue at all costs.

1990 BC: Great celebrations fill the lands as news of our discovery of the wheel is declared. Research is then directed towards writing. "So that we may be able to get information from our neighbours that they may not like to share. " said SolarKnight.

1950 BC: Much exploration was undertaken in this period.

1910 BC: A Party of Exploring warriors, encounter a village of savages who surround them.

1870 BC: he surrounded warriors let out a great war cry and charged at the ambushing warriors, killing two out of the three groups of attackers.

1830 BC: The Spear brigade in SolarNexus is ready, and the people begin to train a settler to construct another village.

1790 BC: our warriors finish off the last of the ambushing warriors.

This was the end of SolarKnight's Visit, he and his friend walk slowly into the a glowing silver gateway and vanish back into the mist, but not before SolarKnight was heard to say to his successor.

" I shall return my Friend, until then May the great light shine in your path. "

Here is the save guys, hope you enjoyed the story.

pretty good set of turns there oblivion.

Guys you may want to watch out for the cities on the flood plain tiles, while they get a nice food bonus, every turn one of the citizens works the tiles, there is a chance of disease infecting the cities, while the food will be nice to help the cities grow, the disease will soon make all that hard work for nothing, just be careful guys.

SolarKnight

by the way, no worries about that warior in french territory, just didn't want our rep ruined straight away, if it does and we get into war, we wont be able to get any alliances as the AI players will hate us.

I think the main problem is no iron or horses :(
France has two iron and one horse, England has one iron and one horse. Not good..

Dont worry about the lack of iron just yet, in this situation, what i would do is keep up with the expansion and fill all the available space. Make sure the cities are well defended (say 2 defence in each) and then when we are big enough, build barracks and attack the weakest civ with iron. :hammer:

Mking absolutely sure that:

a) We have enough troops (say 3 for each city to start with).

b) our defence can handle any counter attack.

and c) KEEP BUILDING UNITS, even while we attack so that if we dont win the first time, we wont be mincemeat on the counter attack.

The alternative is to keep one of our allies sweet and trade for the iron and horses as and when we need them.

another good point, when we get a good opportunity, put up wall in each city, they don't cost anything to maintain and they will boost our defence. fght with archers may not be pretty but it isn't impossible to win.

I am at work. I'll be taking my turns tonight.

I think the lack of iron and horses is a problem.

I'll be looking to continue expansion, produce veteran invasion units for the coming war with France, continue to explore.

Wait this is Regenicide so if we went straight for their capital and killed the king/queen and wiped them out we would be in control of their iron and horses.

I've never played a regenicide game so I'll take your word for it.

I was thinking Paris would be one of the first targets because of it's location. I haven't seen the save yet though.

The thing is all there cities would be destroyed once we killed the king so we would have to settle the area fast before the other AI's.

Well with a war this early we'll probably lose some cities to auto-razing anyway. Just reinforces the need to push out some settlers ASAP :)
