I have much enjoyed playing Civ III with Snoopy's graphics. Thanks again Snoopy.
As I stated in an earlier post however I have had many maps where a red mountain gets stuck in a grey mountain range or vise versa. I just wanted red or grey. Not both.
Well I decide that instead of complaining I would just make my own. (no offence to Snoopy intended) Judging from his new city graphics Snoopy has had better things to do
This file includes:
New jungle mountain.pcx with grey mountains and Snoopy style jungle
New forest mountain.pcx with grey mountains and Snoopy style pine trees
New hill jungle.pcx with original hills plus Snoopy style jungle
Here is a sample image:
I have enjoy these couple cosmetic changes to Snoopy's awesome mod so I thought I would share them.
you cant link to files hosted on tripod from outside tripod, same for geocities. Why didn't you just upload the file to civfan? your picture doesn't work either.
First off, love the graphics Snoopy,
but I have a problem, the cultural boarders don't show up right, where the cultural boarders should be the tiles are a weird gray. Hope someone can help, I really wanna play with The Great Snoopy's graphics.
I've downloaded an' unzipped it. I switch the 'terrain' folder (in CivIII) for the snoppy2green terrain (I downloaded the greener version) but when I load it up one of 2 things happen. All of the sceen is black apart from some resources and cities. Or: it works OK put I can see through the 'fog of war', roads and railroads don't always show up, mountains are a bit wrong (bits cut off, etc) & the 'coast' terrain has little black thing all over them. What is wrong. It might help if somebody walkes me thorugh how they installed it.
I downloaded only the 2 versions but i only copy the files from the greener-file into the orginal civ3-terrain folder. And so it works. If in game something is black, so mostly the grafic-file has not the correct format (for example the colorpalette failed). If it don't work so for you so I can send you my files in an email (maybe it work so).
hey thunderfall (or anyone) - do you think you could whip up a "more white" modpack? Well - for the tundra only. The current tundra looks so dry and forboding (no offense, Snoopy). I want to lighten it up - I think the tundra should be very white, just my opinion.
If not, can you tell me how I could go about doing it myself?
Sorry, but I'm a perfectionist so I have to give it my criticism. It looks very "pastel-y" in the sense that its pretty much only white. The original had some grainy texture to it, kinda like plains. If that can be fixed, I'd worship you. If not - still very good work and keep it up!!!
thx
OK I will see what I can do. I hope I've some time tomorrow or this night, because I must learn something for school (examination). But to saturday I have it 100%. Maybe I reduce a less the white (not to much), because it outshine a little bit the other terrain.
