Some preliminary planning for DGVII

Seeing as how Civ IV releases in the near future, I'd say keep it womewhat short- but long enough to be dignified as the last DG for Civ III. =P

Put the Space Race as a victory condition, I've always liked that victory movie =P It also opens up an interesting roleplaying idea (cold war, race to the moon, anyone?)

Ah yeah, I'll be here for DG VII.

Also we should set the map on standard or smaller since we don't want the game to drag out for a long time and we want to finish the game when Civ IV comes out.

• Regular Epic Game
• Multi-Team DG
• Other Variants

If there are any others, post here.

Why don't we post a poll after DG VI ends (Friday the poll can go up) with options for DG7. Then, we can according plan for when to discuss the constitution, etc, etc.

PS: What is the possibility of having a DG7 *and* Multi-Team DG? As long as the MTDG doesn't require 'secret forums', I bet it could be doable. We just have to trust each other ... what am I saying?!

A 5CC or Multi Team DH would both be great idea for me... What ever we do, not a regular epic game!!!

I really don't care about the specifics at all. This was my first DG, so i'm not bored of epic game, but if the vets want to do a variant, that's fine too. The only thing i'd rather not do is the Multi team DG as the regular DG. Is it possible to have 2 of them running at the same time?

EDIT: i meant the Multi team DG should replace the ISDG, instead of being DGVII

We could do a 5CC, small map (or medium if you think that's too small), monarch or regent. (I'd go with regent, since only having 5 cities might make it more of a challenge for the DG...).

If we do do the multi-team DG, then it should be with secret forums. Also, I doubt that we could do two different games at the same time.

5CC on a small map is a bit easy on Regent, IMO, for this bunch of experienced players. I (and some others) played a 1CC on Regent and won it here.

Monarch is a good level for variants. (AW, 5CC, 5 built cities)

Don't you just love 15-20spt capitals?
(I got one that was 30spt once, using irragation and forest -- Those cattle and hills didn't hurt either...). It was 40spt during a Golden Age.


Maybe we could do a tiny map, OCC game...

Unless it was Emperor, or Monarch with a hard civ, I doubt it would last long.

I do think we should decide how the game is to be played, then we can vote on settings, and lastly, work on the constitution.

Not to fond of OCCs, I dont feel comfortable playing as a city state .
