I have searched the boards and cannot believe this one has not yet been done!

Timeline 191 is an alternate history that originates during the American Civil War. The South wins (with the help of its British and English friends), and goes on to win several subsequent wars (gaining possession of two Mexican states and Cuba) before losing WWI to the U.S. and their Prussian friend, Otto von Bismarck (since Germany and the U.S. win, Hitler never comes to power-- Germany is "good"). The Confederate States have to make giant concessions, losing Kentucky, Oklahoma, and parts of Texas. The U.S. occupies British Canada, sets up a puppet government in Quebec and takes Hawaii (known as the Sandwich Islands). In the following years, a Hitler-like dictator rises up in the South to crush the African-American "Red Rebellions," a similarly-Fascist regime rises in Britain, the U.S. suffers from Mormon dissent in "Deseret" (Utah), and the two Americas head inevitably toward war once again. WWII is... freaking insane. Especially when the South is the first to get nukes. Let's just say that Philly isn't very lucky... neither is Charleston when the North gets the bomb.

Wyrmshadow made many Harry Turtledove WWI units... and a scenario was made I believe. Someone can probably verify the scenario (it may have been planned, or in dev), I have a tough time keeping up with things.

Well, it probably won't make you entirely happy, but I'm working on an 1898 Great War mod: global; USA&CSA; premise: that the Brits and French came to blows at Fashoda. Expect to see many of Wyrm's "191" "WW1" units as well as a complete line of steam tanks & whatnhot. Especially the whatnot.

Any good mod should have a significant amount of "whatnot" in it, IMO.

Experience has taught me that typing MAKE THIS! rarely has the desired effect.

I'd like to see this mod made, but I'm a bit busy working on Playground Mod 2.0. I'd be willing to help out in any way I can on a project to make this scenario, but I wouldn't be able to fully devote myself to it right now.

Was there ever a scenario based on The Harry Turtledove book, The Guns of the South? I rather enjoyed that book.

That's right! I knew it was you Oz who was making it! (buried in the back of my mind somewhere). Much looking forward to it also. Shall I dare ask for a release date?

I am not that familiar with Harry Turtledove, but ever since Wyrm started pumping those great units out and I heard of the mod in progress, it has caught my interest a bit.

@Ozymandias: Until your scenario incorporates Southern Nazis with nukes, it will be a poor Turtledove substitute. Does sound pretty fun, though (specially those steam tanks)

@Roman Legion: I think someone made a Turtledove scenario a while ago, although I don't think it had any custom graphics or heavy modifications. I'll have to go and look for it....

I was referring to one of based on the book The Guns of the South.. But thanks anyway.. :|

Yes, it shall end well before nukes ... But might very well wind up recapitulating (IIRC) "Warlords Of The Air".

... Now, two paper-and-carboard wargames you might to try to convert (just guessing ) are, "Nato, Nukes, and Nazis" (nope, not kidding - also a source of Wonders for a hypothetical post-1945 Nazi Germany) and, "Tomorrow the World".
