One thing I'd like to see in Civ 4 is a "post-it" note kind of thing, whereby you can put a beacon or something at any point on the map to remind you to go back before the end of the turn and do something important- be it unfortify a unit and move it to your border, mess with a city's production, or whatever. And when you hit enter you'd be reminded of these areas. Too many times I've seen something I need to do, got to the end of the turn and hit enter without thinking and "had" to reload right away...

One thing I do, and even did with Civ2, was record with Notepad what needed to be done that turn. It was mainly after I had many cities though. I basically wrote down each city that has pollution or a new building to look at later. I also had to draw a map to find the best possible spot for a city. Essentially nanomanaging. Of course I also checked each city for optimizing the queues. If I could put this in the program rather than a seperate file it could be much easier.

Wow, that's impressive, slothman. It'd be nice if you could have something like a "King's journal" or whatever, easily accessible so it could be used both to record past achievements, and plans for current and future turns.

King's Jornal... YES, reminder beacons... YES, signposts... Where would these go!

A King's journal would be nice. Your advisors would write in it too, telling you about where pollution was, enemy incursions into your borders, and so on, like this:

(Domestic Advisor): Sire, pollution at 32,21 and 40,43 (near Berlin, Hamburg). Let's clean it up!

(Military Advisor): Sire, the Persians have a Spearman and Settler within our borders at 50,52 (near Dresden). Let's kick them out!

Yes, but you could only save the report for each turn, maybe have a separate log for your civ achievements, post everything in the per turn journal, have a separate book, maybe called "The Epic of (your civ name here)", in which the really historical stuff goes. You could have a couple of little book icons up by the Civilopedia and Advisor icons to get into them.
