Somnium Tournament

I'm not sure about timezones, but since I return only at night on the 29th (my timezone is CET) it could be already the next morning for me to be able to compete...

I hope it works out well for all!

Signups are closed now and roster is attached to the first post. First Round commences at noon PST on December 29th, and results must be posted by midnight PST the same day. Round 2 will be able to start any time after you know who your opponent will be, but the official end time for round two will be noon PST on the 30th of December, Round 3 Officially ending on Midnight of the 30th, and the final round shall take place at noon PST on the 31st of December (or an agreed upon time by the contestants who make the finals, but ideally the time is decided early enough that people can plan to observe the match if they wish to).

Thimblyjoe, if you have an OpenID and just never edited the post with it I will place you in the roster in my slot.

Hrm... I should have offered a prize at the start of posting this shouldn't I have? Best I can think of is that I'll offer to mod anything that the winner requests though

If I would have known that I would have entered. Ive been looking for someone to create a dynamic lighting mechanic (so I can adjust global lighting effects from python).

Day/night effects would be kinda nifty to pull off, especially so you could do a scenario of the time when Tebryn blotted out the sun and the lore demanded that Photosynthesis is not required in Erebus :)

And in the Splintered Court to display the day night cycle, and to change the light type (darker and more red) as the AC increases.

And of course, for if someone makes a scenario of Auric's childhood, including his escape from the Shadowed Vale.

I'm in the UK at the moment, and I note that Greyfox is also a European; Noon PST is 8pm over here, and later further East. Would it be allowable for us to play a bit earlier in the day ... assuming that works better for my opponent as well?

Basically as long as you both can agree on a time it's all good. I set up 12 hour blocks hoping that it would happen to provide a decent time for each possible timezone. Almost chose GMT instead of PST, but realized quite a few people don't actually know GMT

Ok I am in the game now, and accidentally drew a card already, but we can wait to play until the time we set so people can watch if they want.

EDIT: Too bad the Somnium game doesn't have a built in chat. But if people wanna chat while playing can always use #erebus on irc.irc-chat.net

There is a java chat client in the menu bar above and below the forum. It connects to the #civfanatics room, but you can join #erebus as well by typing /j #erebus

Ok, I think I'm on #erebus and ready to play Somnium.
