==Caribbean War==

All is quiet. The Inca make no moves, but nor do the Arawak. All forces remain stationary.

==End of the Sich==

With the death of the Hetman, the Sich has entered a period of turmoil. Successive Hetmans had done a great deal to preserve the peace in Eastern Europe, being aligned with both Russia and Hungary and keeping the nations with clearly competing interests focused on a solid alliance against Catholic and Protestant intrusion. As the lands to the west were engulfed by war, the Alliance of the Rus, Cossacks and Magyars kept Eastern Europe peaceful and prosperous.

That period is at its end. Fierce debate in the Rada coupled with economic decline has led to ineffective governance, and in many parts of the country the central government’s leadership has collapsed entirely. The result of this has been many petty power brokers declaring independence or swearing allegiance to various foreign powers. While a handful have gone with the Polish, most have been favorable towards Hungarian or Russian rule. Some members of the Rada, acknowledging the inevitable, have gone so far as to publicly declare the Sich an autonomous principality of the Russian Empire. The Hungarians have not accepted this, however, and still occupy most of the countryside. Outright war has been averted, but Russia and its Sich subordinates continue to assert their rights to the Hungarian portions. Hungary, proudly Lutheran and now having a seaport of its own, is not fond of the idea of losing its new Ukrainian territories.

The old alliance is finished. Russia maintains its grip on the Balkans and most of the former Sich, but Lutheran Hungary now sits in a position as a wild card with no clear allegiance.

The Russian Czar, furthermore, has declared that the Greek Church is corrupt and filled with foreign influences unbefitting of a Slavic faith. The Slavic Orthodox Church has been declared, with the Czar reserving the right to appoint its Patriarch in Moscow. The Bulgarians and Serbs have agreed and have likewise declared the Russian Patriarch legitimate.

==Levantine War==

In light of news that Crusader armies are marching against its Turkish allies, the Songhai Empire declares war on Alexandria-Jerusalem.

==Levantine War==

Reports have arrived from the Levant about the three-way war between the Cypriots, Crusaders, and Ottomans in a battle of the faiths.

Cyprus: 3 Armies, 20 Navies – AQ7; NQ8
Ottomans: 4 Armies, 10 Navies – AQ6; NQ6

The Ottoman Army strikes at Hedjaz with 4 armies.

The Ottomans are few, but they emerge victorious. They only kill 1 Hedjazi force, but they do capture 2 provinces. The Hedjazi forces kill 2 Ottoman.

The Alexandrians launch a surprise attack to conquer the entirety of the Near East. Though they number 31, they face 80 Turkish conscripts. The Cypriots have given the order to abandon Beirut, thus allowing the Turkish and Crusader forces to duel over the Holy Land without interference.

The Crusaders kill 7 Turkish divisions, but lose 17. The Crusader military flees back to Judea rather than risk near-complete annihilation, while the Ottomans are too exhausted to pursue them. The war remains in a stalemate, with both sides having fresh recruits to replace their fallen.

The Alexandrian fleet shares its treachery with the land forces, and doesn’t sail to Cyprus. This results in 10 Turkish ships fighting the 20 Cypriot ships alone.

The Cypriots lose 2 ships, while the entire Ottoman fleet is sunk. A blockade of the Ottoman Mediterranean ensues, though the Empire still looks poised for victory.

Alexandria helps Cyprus and still they speak against it. No wonder Cyprus has no friends :lol:

Looks like Red_Spy should have just split the Cypriot moneypot with Arrow rather than give you the benefit of his charity.

the King of Cyprus would like to remind the Senior Pope that they are also at war against Cyprus.

we have several offers in mind, but it has to wait until the new turn starts.

EDIT: there is only one holy city. you cannot split it in two. one would get nicosia, while the other get virtually nothing. to be honest, we'd rather the ottomans get it.

The Pope has no right to speak on foreign policy, for they too betrayed our agreement.

It is clear all Catholics are no better than lying scum.

On the contrary, our agreement said that I would attack the Cypriot fleet in return for Ottoman gold, it did not define when that attack on the Cypriot fleet would occur. We have yet to violate the letter of our agreement. At any rate, quite naturally (if you would care for elaboration) Il Papa distrusted mohammedan intentions, and so was (is?) waiting for the agreed upon gold to be confirmed as sent before he commits his glorious navy to the extermination of the Cypriot nuisance (with all their insults).

Incidentally Il Papa always holds to his agreements, if the gold is received Il Papa would be pleased initiate a conflict against the Cypriots. Although naturally we will not go to war against the Alexandrians on your behalf since we have very good relations with them (concordantly I believe I have a NAP with Songhai, arranged prior to DoubleA leaving in order to avoid a nasty little war with them).

A NAP that the NPC doesn't care about because it was a gentleman's agreement, and NPCs aren't gentlemen.

an intellectual distinction AA.

Egypt will be reclaimed for Islam if it does not make peace with the Ottoman Empire.

That is Songhai's input on the subject.

It stands to reason an alliance will take priority over an NAP. Songhai is technically only declaring war on Alexandria-Jerusalem, so it is in actuality the Papal States breaking the NAP, not them, as the Papacy makes the choice to intervene on A-J's behalf. ;)

The papacy has yet to intervene tani, seeing as its not just myself running things now, don't count your chickens before they've hatched :p

Actually Sone resigned on chat on the basis of the religious focus not being interesting to him.
