Notes:
I cant remember the last time I played a turn so badly. If I hadn't let Constantinople shrink to size 12 then we may have got industrilization 1 turn earlier and then not had to trade again for iron. It also occurs to me I could have brought Iron rather than trading a tech for it.

Korea has salt (at last). I haven't done the deal but they will accept 9gpt for it. We can then upgrade our spear to musket. We can't get cavarly as nobody has the tech.

We are up only 2 techs on India and Aztecs and 3 on Korea. The others are further behind.

Constantinople is size 14 and grows every 5 turns. We make 28spt and 400 science per turn. It will not be until we hit size 19 that any unhappy people will appear. According to my rough calculations the prebuild will be about 600 shields just as we get TOE. We could then go AT, Electronics and start Hoover dam.

We now have over 6000 gold in the bank and make +149gpt from other civs.

If Kaiser_Berger doesn't respond within 24 hours, then the next player, Grimjack, will play next. If Kaiser_Berger does show up, he'll play and Grimjack play play after him. We skipped KB last time since he was on break or something, and it's possible he still is. I just want everyone participlating, but I don't want to lag on.

Getting workers out is more important than having an extra tech. If we miss a wonder because of getting pollution, we will feel somewhat miffed I guess.

Also, we cannot really count on getting the wonders unless we keep our monopoly on the techs, as the AIs may start to get SGLs about now.

The AI has already started getting techs before us, they got Navigation and Economics first and I assume they will get Mil Trad as well.

We are certain to get TOE first as they can't research the tech fast enough to stop us (with the pre build) and the boost from this should get us Hoovers (if we take AT and Electronics) as again we are far enough ahead they can't get the tech in time.

After this it is getting difficult as the tech leaders will probably have caught up by then so we need to look at securing the UN. If we get the chance we would win the vote as everybody :love: us, but if we don't build the UN it won't matter as we will not even be on the ballot.

The main problem is every time one of the AI's gets a new tech it sells it around before we can do anything. We have enough cash to see us through but getting the other techs is going to get more and more difficult
 
Are we considering stealing techs, or is that just too risky? If we are truely up to it, we can become communist, in which case we can very easily suceed...but this may be a bad idea.

I did think of this, but as I am not an expert in either OCC or tech stealing it seems increadbly risky which is why I didn't mention it.

Plus, of course, our city is set up for science not cash. Wew still haven't built our market place yet.

As far as I can see the only wonder we must get is the UN and apart from building TOE and Hoovers we can drift to the victory buying the techs we need at last or swapping with the lagging AI's.
 
Being communist would cut our income in half. Not a good thing to eigther do self research or buy something. And spy missions are dangerous (and expensive).

We will race to UN. We are likely to get it, since we have a possibility to prebuild something. If nothing else we can buy resources to enable a battleship to start.

1300AD I will let workers continue to build fortresses until such a time as wehn I can let them build rails.

1310 Babs start Smiths and Magellans, We lose three luxes, but our population do not care very much.

1315 Aztecs complete Magellans, Aztecs not surprisingly went the Nationalism way. We would want this tech somehow, but Steam is not enough.

1320 As we get ELectricity, we nail UN, as Geminus appears. He will be fortified in glorious Constantinople, waiting for his time to appear.
I get Nationalism + 4 gpt and 11 gold for STeam from Aztecs.I also buy coal from him for 166 gold.

1325 I could sell Industrialization to Korea for 244 gpt, but I see no reason to hurry their tech pace.
I will wait until we have Theory before selling techs.

Did I read this correctly? We got 2 SGL with consecutive techs [dance]

We should be able to get Hoovers with a pre build, should we consider rushing something else like Bach's? It won't make much difference to our position but I will bring the win closer.

US is build -> hmmm, JS Bachs is still availiable. It adds three times as much culture as hoover.
However it would save us only 3 turns from the nearly 100 we have to go. But getting Bachs and ToE now and Hoover in ~30 turns it would save us ~5 turns in total. And we have some time to build a rifleman each two rounds. And Hoover won't get us much in terms of production since most units we want to build cost 80, and hoover won't give us the additional 38. So i decide to go for Bachs first and then ToE. We loose a turn on research, but this shouldn't be a problem

I buy spices from india for 100gp. We don't need them, but it greatly improves their attidute towards us. Also i think the AI have a quite good reputaion this far and maybe want to keep it this way.
We should have at least one deal with every big one all the time. Keeps them happy and its real cheap.
Science to 60%

Notes for the next one:
We get a rifleman and Rep.Parts next turn. We than have a whopping military of 5 rifleman, 2 knights and a spearman. We should build at least 5 artillery before anything else. I doubt we have rubber inside our territory, and we won't be able to trade for it a long time (hopefully)
We can continue building militay -> guerillas, artillery and some rifleman (for the time we get rubber)
We also can build the Hoover Dam, but it would save us only ~2 turns in total, and the production bonus wont be really significant (we make 45 shields at the moment, need 80 for one turn military units)
Military seems more usefull at this stage of the game. We can support ~160 units with no research (and have time build ~40-50), so money should not be a problem.
I didn't traded any tech. It just wasn't needed.

Should be easy to bring it at home from now on.

Built Hoover Dam. Researched Radio and Corporation. Made various deals when techs became known or to keep the AIs sweet and gracious.

The Inca have been destroyed by the Aztecs. It is 1555AD and we are 66 turns away from victory at the present cultural grwoth rate.

We've got rubber [dance]

Now building some artys and some more inf and we will safely survive even when we declare on everyone (not that i advise this :))

I really like the look of our science at the city screen. >500, nearly kicking the left monitor side :D

Maybe we can irrigate some more for more grow. We could also get to 80 spt. But i doubt we need a unit every turn, unless we try a conquest victory during the next 66 turns ;)
