SP1 - Always War, with extra restrictions

I only took 10 turns; I think it's better at the stage where at. Players are welcome to take

from 5-20 turns though.

12 workers
21 spearmen
5 swordsmen
2 horsemen
17 pikemen
1 musket man
10 knights
2 catapults

the insidious Chinese sent two raids against us during my reign. The first time a single

rider landed on our west coast, and our brave knight fended off his vicious attack. The

second time, a more determined effort came against our fledgling city on our northern tip.

Two groups of their evil riders landed, accompanied by a group of swordsmen. We attacked,

but some of our knights were slain, and we did not have enough to stop them from razing our

city to the ground. They shall pay dearly for this.

Meanwhile, I didn't feel I had enough troops to launch an assault on Athens. I retreated and

regrouped around Sparta, building a temple there to improve the culture and stop it from

flipping. Otherwise I concentrated on developing civil improvements.

We need a better road network. Getting troops from the south-east of our empire to the

south-west is a nightmare!

Now, who is building all these regular units! I even saw a regular knight! That's a no-no.

Our military at the end of my reign stands at:

15 workers (+3)
21 spearmen
1 swordsman (-4)
1 horseman (-1)
17 pikemen
1 musket man
18 knights (+8)
2 catapults

Education comes next turn; the next ruler will doubtless have to see to beginning to build

universities in key cities. Time for our scientists to overtake the blundering research of

these other so-called "Civilizations"

ok it seems that we now have:

Sirp <--- Just Played
gunning <--- up now!
meldor <--- on deck
Killer <--- hope he's having a nice time on vacation

Maple <--- ???

1030 AD

oh and btw, if anyone is interested, the RBCiv Always War epic just finished, you can see my report on it here or see the discussions at the RBCiv Forum

There'll be another Always War game starting there soon, if anyone is interested in playing.

You should remove Juliennew from your list.

I know she resigned from all sg except my training day game.

I'm still going to go with my classic turn report. Will not be able to keep track of units. Sorry.

1. 1040 AD-Learn Education, start Banking. Elephantine Cathedral-University. Edfu Cathedral-Library. Pithom Marketplace-Musketman. Buhen Temple-Marketplace.
2. 1050 AD-Culture expands in Sparta. El-Ashmunein Temple-Marketplace. Drop research rate from 60% to 50%, and instead of being -7 we are now +16 gpt.
3. 1060 AD-Rome Marketplace-Library. Giza Knight-University. Veii Courthouse-Marketplace. See the borders of what look like Germany, but haven't seen one of their units.
4. 1070 AD-Antium Aqueduct-Marketplace. Culture expands in Veii.
5. 1080 AD-Thebes Knight-University. Same with Memphis and Byblos. Culture expands in Buhen.
6. 1090 AD-Avaris Knight-Musketman. Culture expands in Avaris. Lisht Worker-Marketplace. Culture expands in El-Ashmunein. Tanis Temple-Marketplace.

I end my rule for now, but I will return to rule these people once again. Got to do other things at the moment. We gained a few units, and lost a few.

It sure is.:( This time I can explain. I had to re-install Civ. 3 yesterday so all of the files I had got lost.:(

@gunning1
The zip file is EMPTY.

I was curious - going to take a look - but no game.
I can't figure out why you are getting away with building so much infanstructure in always war.

LKendter: we get away with that because we didn't have any strong opponents closeby except Rome (eliminated early enough) and Greece (who never manage war well in my experience). If we'd had Germany, France or America next to us..... or any other nation with a decidedly offensive early UU... Persia..... Iroquese.... things would have run a lot different then i think.

Makes sense.

My always war toture had Immortals, Babs with Bowman (nastier then they seem as harder to kill) and to many earlier cities with low shields.
