Space Race Crash

This is slightly disappointing, after playing for an entire weekend, I managed to finally beat the space race victory condition. It was on an easy difficulty, Monarch, but it was still a slight accomplishment. Just as the final SS part was built in one of my core cities, and I pressed the launch button, the game crashed to desktop. I tried again, with the same result. Does anybody know what this is caused by, or how I can fix this, because I just did not study for a chemistry test to finish this, and now I'm feeling a tad put out

I had the same thing man, Space Race win on archipelago-regent! Game crashed and I couldn't launch the damn thing and register my win!

Perchance the video for the launch is messed up? Have you ever had any problems with in-game movies, or with bink movies?

I cannot remember even encountering any in-game movies in Civ3, with the exception of the intro cinematic.

There's a Spaceship one as well.

Find the Victory_Movie.bik file, and rename it to Victory_Movie.bak. Then take the Intro.bik and copy it to Victory_Movie.bik. This should tell you if your Victory_Movie.bik file is corrupt. It should be in your Art\Movies directory.

There's also an "easter egg" movie that has sid mieier giving you a security breifing during a siege.
