Spaceship Launch --> Crash

I finished the construction of all components of the spaceship and was directed to the spaceship screen. Since nobody else has yet started to build a spaceship, I intended to delay the launch and then I found out I must launch the spaceship as I cannot exist the spaceship screen. Okay, I pressed the 'Launch' and then error occured and ETD.

Is there a way to solve this?

Check your Civilization III Art folder (C:/Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/Art/Movies/), and see if you have the file race.bik. I am thinking that you don't have it for some reason, and when you win by Spaceship and it's looking for the file, it can't find it so it quits to the desktop.

Turner: I doubt it is a problem with his savegame more than it is with his computer.

But if you can give us a save and it works for us, it's most likely you don't have a required file.

Thank you. I found the file you mentioned. I had experience in the past that Bink video might caused problems (like EU2) in running a game. So I just renamed the file and then I got a space race victory!

By the way I can use Bink video player to play the race.bik without a problem. Perhaps it is my video card/driver (Nvidia 6600GT) that casues the problem!?
