Is it just me, or is spawn point a HUGE factor on Deity? It seems to me having a corner start is highly important so you have superior fallback positions and are much less likely to get in several wars at once - and your opponent is more likely to be in a tactically weak position.

Also, regardless of what you do, is it even possible to win an ancient age war against Greece? Particularly a cornered Greece who's only opponent in range is you. He's the only AI who makes horsemen (the overpowered Companion Cavalry) and also lots of the direct counter to horsemen (Hoplites). Even with horsemen you stand no chance, because all of his units do more damage to you than him, even on flat terrain. And replacement rate on his units is just way higher due to difficulty level.

Arggggggggggg I just felt like venting after spawning right between Bismark and Greece. It's like from the moment I started the game I had no chance... very demoralizing first loss on Civ5, because it felt like there was nothing I could do.
